@pitdesi Hey @pitdesi (saw you from afar at EMC today), but at pre-seed for us at @WonderVentures it was really about meeting two amazing founders and believing in them. And then watching them execute amazingly at every turn. (And a childhood love of collecting didn’t hurt ; )

Whatnot started out as a marketplace for Funk Pop toys and the first round was $550k in 2020 (Wonder Ventures + YC) now they are worth $11.5B at pre-seed you really have to imagine what something could become. I would likely not have invested in a marketplace for Funko Pops!

AI has killed COLD email. My volume of cold outreach is up 5-10x in the last yr & now I have to ignore all of it. Founder emails that stood out before just don't anymore b/c now all are vaguely personalized & thus undifferentiated. There is a start up opportunity here though!
