@AmalJos95950131 Then we have to let nature take care of the fires on its own. If you don't take out the dead wood and put the fires out ourselves for 80 years you get the intense fires we are now seeing that are burning the healthy trees instead of scorching them a bit.
Planting trees is certainly good. But it doesn't create a forest. Existing forests should be aggressively protected. There is NO substitute for a natural forest.
@cspotweet How much longer do I have to hear about hockey whining this year. I know it's the playoffs or whatever it's called because my boss announced it in morning meeting. There was a collective sighing fuuuuuuck from all of us.
I mean, if you believe in the rules of the NHL, it shouldn't be a goal, but when have the rules ever been applied in the interests of the Edmonton Oilers
You’re given $2m.
You have 20 minutes to spend it.
You can’t spend it on cars, airplanes, yacht or a house. You can’t spend it on golds or diamonds either.
What will you buy?
@saylordocs Nah y'all are just going to college. You know that supply and demand thing, and willing to take out loans for it. Boomers didn't have the option of loans, you had the money or you didn't.
@schiz04renic Yeah but the only time I did that on salary was in the military. Now hourly and there is only 3 or 4 salary people in my company that make more than before ot. It's a scale but I get multiple times my hourly rate for every minute more than 40. Salary people and ot are weird.
We had an incredible opportunity to make remote work the global standard, and we blew it. Seriously: What happened? Why did so many companies go back to the office?
@UziCryptoo They had a budget app called a bank statement and check book. They knew close to the penny what was there at all times or they bounced a check. You also didn't actually know when the money was coming out for that check.
HOT TAKE: nobody in 1975 needed a budget app, a financial coach, and a side hustle to afford a two bedroom apartment. this isn’t a personal finance problem. it’s a wage theft problem.
No, you cannot walk 10,000 steps daily, get 8 hours of sleep, cook every night, clean every day, take care of a family, make time for your own hobbies, and still be productive at work every day. This is not just propaganda, it is nonsense. Free yourself from it.
@dukeofhindsight@OrevaZSN No lol, I take it very easy with my morning routine and thank God that I don't have to do the awful commute to the office anymore. The office that is full of distractions, superficial relationships, shared toilets etc.
@DFAAustinBarnes@OrevaZSN That's nice. Who are you again? You think that you exist at all to me besides this brief interaction. Either one of us could disappear tomorrow and less than 100 would notice, less that 20 would give a shit.
@CryptoDunedain@OrevaZSN You're considering commute time work time? How productive are you in your vehicle? Are you logging into your computer at home the second you would have buckled your seatbelt and working extra hours on salary?
@dukeofhindsight@OrevaZSN So you're saying that just because some jobs require on-site presence, we should all, out of sympathy, collectively waste millions of work hours per year being stuck in traffic/commute for 1-2h per day, despite the fact that a lot of us have sufficient home offices?
