@dana_greene I don’t like complaining about refs but Houston is allowed to be extra physical with BYU every meeting and it’s never consistent the other way.

Kevin Young was not happy with the way the game was called in BYU's 73-66 loss to Houston Thursday night in the Big 12 Tournament.

@CougarAlbo @GlassHalfUte yeah I gave your team kudos bruh. Just saying it’d be nice to be in the bonus for the majority of the game and make the other team defend differently/bench guys in foul trouble. even if it’s a better officiated game byu likely wins, as they should with that roster. Geez

@UteFanIvan I don’t know why Tech or BYU fans would be upset by where Utah is ranked. It helps both of those teams.

@Bigmacmurph @ccrawesome He’s a dawg but he’s also played UTEP, McNeese, & 1-2 Air Force team at home. He faired well at A&M, but a lot of his stats were shaped by garbage time of that game too. He’s also 24. Ludwig wasn’t the best at QB development, and I’m glad he’s doing well. But apples to oranges

@ccrawesome I do think he’s grown leaps and bounds this past summer under Mendenhall. He looks so much better than last year. I think Utah poured so much energy into an injured Rising that Barnes was never really given the chance of developing during his time at Utah.

The University of Utah misuse of Bryson Barnes needs to be studied.

@ScottyGZone Reading through these two threads… a lot of BYU fans are definitely “pick me” kids that can’t comprehend anyone getting attention but themselves. Policing the local media like this? Yikes. Then another fan tagging AP voters? Some of these people are psychotic.

I'm not sure why that tweet was so difficult to understand. It was sent before the game kicked off and was about all the love that Utah was getting nationally about the environment and excitement that was created leading up to kickoff. Yes, did all that excitement end suddenly after kickoff? Sure. But that's on the team. The fanbase did their part to create a great collegiate atmosphere leading up to the game.
GiantCoug@ssskb33

@ScottyGZone I realize you have to say this to keep listeners, but exactly why do they deserve it? They haven’t won a Big XII home game, they played like “poo poo” last year, and they haven’t beaten anybody, yet, this year. They got exactly what they “deserved” today…an 🫏 kicking.

@AMarkham_UN BYU is a much better position than UCLA unless you get a godfather offer from UCLA. Now that BYU has so much money going into their athletics department from donors, it’s hard to run out on that position.

BYU is in a MUCH more stable position to keep Kalani now, but I stand by what I’ve said all along. Now that Scalley is the “Head Coach in Waiting” at Utah, it will be easier for other teams to get Sitake to listen to them more seriously. However, UCLA is tough to take seriously.
Sean Walker@ActuallyDSW

BYU coach Kalani Sitake on being a potential candidate for head coach openings, as he was over the weekend after UCLA fired DeShaun Foster following the Bruins' 0-3 start 👇

@ATrueMillennial Matthew, it’s reprehensible what happened to Kirk, and any normalization of such an act is abhorrent. I think it’s also important to acknowledge the rhetoric from Trump & other conservative pundits about the state rep from Minnesota, Paul Pelosi, the arson on Shapiro home. (1/2)

People are taking the online hatred into the real world. Now, one of two things will happen now: We could have a return to normalcy like we did after the 60s: the Hitler comparisons die down, we break some online echo chambers, and everyone agrees to keep it above the belt. Or this could become the new normal: the echo chambers harden, suspicions grow stronger, and Americans stop talking to the "enemy" on the other side. I desperately hope we can conquer our online outrage addiction, but I worry we don't have it in us to change. I pray to God I'm wrong. /end

This week, half the country discovered that a sizable chunk of their fellow citizens literally want them dead. My "quiet Conservative" friends and family are in shock to see their fellow citizens dancing on Charlie Kirk's grave and celebrating his murder because he was an open, religious Conservative. 1/

@foxonabox_ Crazy how people thought they were smarter than over a dozen Nobel Prize winning economists. The MAGA movement is just, “nah all the smart people are wrong cuz they’re part of the establishment” whatever that means. It’s a perpetual cop out

@foxonabox_ I’m not sure people get the joke that it’s the first home game and he’s helping get the stadium ready for the fans. Almost like one of those old Sportscenter commercials with the athletes in the office. The joke is just flying over people’s heads.

@tua_PIK @jkimballcook Evidence shows that a state's frequent and ostentatious displays of military power can signal weakness rather than strength. Such behavior can reveal underlying political or military vulnerabilities & is used to project a desired image of power to internal and external audiences

Remember when some Big12 refs had a weird vendetta against Utah last season. Taunting fans and all that. Did they get over that or are we still in the dog house?

@jkimballcook You need the cultivated areas to appreciate the uncultivated areas. The Wasatch front was pretty barren and undesirable when people first moved here.
