The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred at the 61 kilometre peg along Harare - Bulawayo Road on 15/07/25 at around 2200 hours in which three people were killed while one person was injured. A BMW 523D vehicle with no passengers on board rammed onto the back of a Toyota Sienta vehicle with three passengers on board. The two vehicles were travelling in the same direction towards Harare. Subsequently, the Toyota Sienta vehicle veered to the right onto the oncoming lane resulting in a head on collision with a Shacman truck. The bodies of the victims were taken to Norton Hospital mortuary for post mortem while the injured was admitted at Sally Mugabe Hospital, Harare.

Tendai Mashingaidze, a 33-year-old man from Domboshava, was arrested over the weekend on allegations of engaging in indecent acts with two 20-year-old males. He appeared before Harare magistrate Mrs. Marewanazvo Gofa on Monday, facing accusations of coercing the individuals into a s€xual relationship. Court records indicate that Mashingaidze allegedly took part in various s€xual activities with the two. The case surfaced after he was reportedly caught in the act with one of them, leading to his immediate arrest. He was not required to plead during the initial court appearance.

After receiving news of the Fifth Brigade's Gukurahundi activity from my men on the ground and in conjunction with the reports I forwarded to CIO headquarters, I was told by the CIO provincial commanding officer to report what was going on to the JOC commander, Brigadier Chinenge (who later changed his name to Constantino Chiwenga). I drove to the JOC and as always obtained admission to his office with no problem. I was a frequent visitor to the JOC and well known by all the staff there. I told him that things had gone wrong in the curfew area. Chinenge was not perturbed with my news and told me not to worry, but to include these aspects in my normal weekly security briefing which at the next occasion was to be attended by Mugabe, CIO minister Emmerson Mnangagwa, Edison Shirihuru the CIO political affairs bigwig, Perence Shiri, Fifth Brigade commander, and the then ZNA chief of staff, General Gava (later called Vitalis Zvinavashe). Whenever Mugabe went to any event such as this briefing, the room was wall to wall with political and military wannabes; he was always crowded by a retinue of ministers, aides, bodyguards and other loyal functionaries all trying to catch the Commander in Chief’s attention with the right contribution, joke or action.
