@chrisweight @Liathetrader It goes up. 3x I call bs - except if he wanted a high state of charge at arrival.
2x I am pretty sure though given elevation gain and highway speed.
Ranges are for mix driving, if you do mostly highway you get less
English

@Liathetrader Those range figures are complete bullshit. We drove my buddies R1S to Mammoth from San Diego and had to charge the bloody thing 3x both ways.

@NateBry43308018 @RivianTrackr Width is already adjustable on r1 - I have 4 points on r1t, the ones on the bed don’t have same width as the roof and yet same crossbars fit. They are genuinely the best system ever.
Surprising that they changed the anchor
English

@RivianTrackr Silly question. Why would they be? Is the width exactly the same? I thought it would have been smaller on the R2
English

I can see them having 600k total units out of Georgia after phase 2. I also think they will be looking at an international plant that may be even larger just to make R3 abroad.
Chris Hilbert@Hilbe
Late 2028 for R2s coming out of Georgia. I believe these will be Gen 2 R2 units and maybe we will start seeing R3s shortly thereafter?

@Rivian_DD Raising production of first phase is sign of good demand projections

- $1B Volkswagen equity investment landed today after RV Tech cleared its winter testing milestone.
- DOE loan got smaller, from $6.6B down to $4.5B. Georgia Phase 1 capacity went up, from 200K to 300K vehicles annually.

R2 production officially started last week in Normal. Customer deliveries are coming in weeks. Plus a $1B VW check landed today, Georgia got a 50% capacity bump, and Q1 deliveries hit 10,365. Big quarter for Rivian. My breakdown: riviantrackr.com/news/r2-rolls-…

Instead of building micro factories to retrofit HW3 vehicles, Tesla should just have owners trade in for an AI4 vehicle. Sounds too good to be true? Think again.
If an upgraded HW3 Tesla added to the Robotaxi network can earn $10K per year ($50K lifetime value over 5 years), it would cover the difference between a HW3 and AI4 vehicle today. For example, the difference between a used HW3 vehicle worth $20K today and a $55K AI4 car is only $35K.
So, rather than building micro factories across the world, Tesla should let owners trade in their HW3 at $0 cost for an AI4 car. They take in and upgrade the HW3 car and add it to their Robotaxi fleet to earn back the value difference.

@ZachBeenvvr @Hilbe If they were ready they would have released it that’s for sure !
I’m convinced their roadmap in timeline is overly optimistic.

@Michael_L_Rauch @Rivian Cyber truck is extremely quiet cabin - it’s a very effective way to improve audio actually. It improves signal to noise ratio and imho is an excellent thing.
I tried a Tesla model 3 first gen1 and it was very boomy but not precise compared to my Rivian.
English

Chris “audio in @Rivian R2 isn’t amazing” and in other news Water is Wet. Love Rivian, but they need to up their audio game with decent hardware. They’ve done all the can on the R1 platform through software to make it passable, but still isn’t great.
Chris Hilbert@Hilbe
Audio: Mid 😞
English

@Michael_L_Rauch @Rivian No I have the one after.
My only real complaint on audio is the gain which is way too high. I don’t understand why - I am stuck usually at 6 or 7 and that is detrimental to dynamic.
But otherwise audio is precise - but definitely round not boomy that many people like.
English

@Hilbe What? So zero risk of cracking the $1,600 roof glass like in my Tesla if I torqued more than 3nm? 🤯
English

@BarryFine1 @RivianTrackr 150kw is half ran max capabilities if you are alone on a three shared stall.
Was there someone else on that same trio? They do like 1A-C, 2A-C. If you are on same number, you share 300kw
English

@RivianTrackr road trip over the weekend - maybe slight improvement when using a Tesla SC. Worse with a RAN (topped off at 150kw at very low SOC and preconditioned).
English

I’ve had a few people slide into my DMs to tell me they’ve seen improvements on Gen 1 R1 fast charging as well, although not as prominent.

@timthedrummer @EV_carba It has 110v 1200w (or maybe 1500w?) and plenty of space. But not integrated with vehicle.

@EV_carba Can you put a refrigerator in it? A refrigerator comes standard in the $NIO ES9

I just installed this and it may be the single best software thing @Rivian has shipped so far in 2026.

Rivian has released a new mobile app update 3.11 which resulted a revamped navigation with great swipe gestures!
English

@RivianTrackr Oh I thought it would allow comparing trips across models not just a table recap.
