POWER OUTAGE UPDATE – BLOSSOMWOOD Wed - July 19, 2023 – 6:45pm To make final repairs it will be necessary to cut power temporarily. The outage estimated timing is 7:30-8:00. The customers impacted will be from Toll Gate Rd to Drake Ave and from California Stto Monte Sano Blvd

Students shouldn't have to get medical notes for profs to provide accommodations. Students shouldn't have to show obituaries for profs to let them miss class. Students shouldn't have to share their trauma for profs to show them compassion. Trust your students. And be kind.

EASY GREEK STORIES: a thread. Two excellent former students of mine, @emmabuechner and @e_starr14, had the brilliant idea that there should be a running story to go with our Greek text (like the one they had enjoyed with the Cambridge Latin text).

Everyone is fine, the iPad is fine, and it was a welcome moment of levity in these stressful times! Even more impressive is that the student picked the iPad up and got right back to work!

Real story from high school Latin e-teaching: today, a student was working at her job at the stables during Latin class, but still called in to class (amazing!!). All was well until her horse picked up the iPad in its mouth and chucked it across the room. #ClassicsTwitter

Giraffes are interesting in Roman art. At some point, some random Greek looked at one and thought 'that's a cross between a camel and a leopard' and came up with 'kamēlopárdalis' or cameleopard. So people were like 'huh, lets make it look like a camel and a leopard at once'
