BREAKING: President Duma Boko Declines White House Invite, Insists Talks Must Happen in Botswana He has reportedly turned down an invitation from the U.S. President to visit the White House, making it clear that any discussions about Botswana’s natural resources must take place on Botswana’s soil. Speaking firmly, President Boko emphasized: “If there is any official business to discuss, it should take place in Botswana. We cannot continue traveling abroad to negotiate matters concerning our own resources.” He stressed that Botswana should not have to go overseas to negotiate issues directly connected to its minerals, assets, and long-term national interests. According to him, if international partners are genuinely interested in doing business, they should come to Botswana and engage respectfully within the country. “In business, buyers go to the sellers,” he added a statement that suggests seriousness, fairness, and mutual respect must guide international partnerships.

This week in Mombasa, @AfricaCDC’s Division of Health Economics and Financing launched a continental training on Evidence Synthesis and Health Technology Assessment (HTA), bringing together delegates from 12 @_AfricanUnion Member States. The programme builds capacity in systematic reviews, HTA methodologies, critical appraisal, and the institutionalisation of HTA in policy and budgeting processes. The ambition behind this initiative is to enable smarter, fairer, and higher-impact health investments that strengthen national health planning. #HealthSovereignty
