Delighted to share this scoping review, highlighting the psychosocial impct of being 'nil by mouth' and the lack of outcome measures suitable has been published today and available Open Access. doi.org/10.1111/jan.16… Now onto the challenge of addressing the gaps..

Conferences are so much more than the fabulous organised speakers. They are about connecting with people, making collaborations, being inspired and learning from those pushing the boundaries. @sallymorganslt @SltSonja @UKSRG2 and #ThuyFrakking who really should get on twitter!

Key points: More research is needed for both EMST and Biozoon in stroke before it is recommended for use, particularly safety aspects! EMST in stroke has many contraindications. Need more research for TMS too but current studies show it is safe. #UKSF23 @JB_SLT @echepperslt

Day 1 of my HEE/NIHR pre doctoral clinical academic fellowship! So grateful for all the support with making this possible. Looking forward to seeing where it leads in generating more research for use of stabilised edible foam and dysphagia!

The thing I want to know is if all that lovely foam is aspirated and sits above an inflated tracheostomy cuff for a day/two days/a week how much bacteria grows on it?
Elizabeth Hepper@echepperslt

Can’t quite believe I have a first author publication! Hopefully the first of many papers looking into the use of stabilised edible foam and dysphagia. Many thanks to my amazing supervisor @drjompatterson for all your help and support along the way! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/14…
