2. Approach
@bryan_johnson created Project Blueprint to be an algorithm to run his body.
Bryan doesn't make any decisions. He measures all 70+ organs through hundreds of tests & they govern his behavior.
30 doctors study the literature and test it on him.
Bryan Johnson spends $2 million a year to be 18 years old again.
In 2021, he reduced his epigenetic age by 5.1 years in 7 months (a world record)
His 13-steps for a long healthy life:
@BillieRubenMake Brown noise works for me. Try the myNoise app, look for White Rain or Tin Roof Rain and adjust them to be brown noise. Lots of other noise generators are out there too.
Anyone got any tips for insomnia?
I've never had it before, mostly been pretty good at falling asleep, but since I got out of hospital it has been really hard to, and I'm finding myself listening to the rooster crow yet again. 😩
Duolingo makes me so angry tbh. It's not the nagging, or the constant ads, but the fact that it's not language learning? I'd be willing to pay if payment got me...like, actual insight into the grammar of the language or something.
More fun publisher surveillance:
Elsevier embeds a hash in the PDF metadata that is *unique for each time a PDF is downloaded*, this is a diff between metadata from two of the same paper. Combined with access timestamps, they can uniquely identify the source of any shared PDFs.
@h_zurcher My website is my name, desiquintans.com. I’ve had it since I was like 15, it’s the display case for everything I’ve wanted to share since then. I don’t know how ‘professional’ this is, but a lot of people love it for its variety.
Tryna set up a personal website for stuff and... what's the most professional take if I don't already have a Brand? Is just using my surname for the domain name unprofessional? Is that weird?
(mostly want to get my year of birth off my email, prune my resume, and share writing)
@ebodley Definitely try fanning if the seeds are much heavier than the hulls! Separation with floating/sinking can work, and you can even try a brine solution which is how stuff of different densities (like different types of plastic) are separated.
@BillieRubenMake Hi Billie, maybe simplest way is to print/cut a small rectangle that fits 3M removable strips with a screw hole. Screw the fans to the rectangle, tape rectangle to window frame, that way the fans are outside the window’s space?
PC fans: for when the real estate refuses to acknowledge the mould/damp problem.
Now I just gotta find a way I can install them semi permanently so I don't have to remove them to lock the window.
Serious question: does anyone have a favorite casual gender-neutral term for "person"?
Like, the way I might say "this dude" or "this chick". That sort of informal. "This friend of mine" and "this person" seem stiff, but "this gremlin" seems either too rude or too intimate.
my spectrum way made me STRICTLY LOGICAL as young buck. i would make 'objetive' decisions like this and see hurt it caused and think 'whoa that felt logical but RESULTS ARE IN BUD now the timeline is worse'. learned it is actually MORE logical to GIVE FEELINGS WEIGHT they deserve
@Sierra_OffLine Everyone at Oculus within earshot of me got this almost daily. While the rest of the world was going "casual gaming", we were inventing the exact opposite. You can't do anything else when you're in VR. Drink coffee? Stroke the cat? Fuck you pay attention we're in VR 110%.
💡 good idea or bad?
• any time an MP tells a journo "🇦🇺 has reduced emissions by 20% since 2005" & they go *unchallenged*, listeners/viewers notify a coordinator
• coordinator then encourages 100 people to contact the journo (politely) explaining the lie.
