Week 1 vs TMI was this past friday, and all though we didn’t have the out come we desired we still showed flashes of a great team and I’m excited for the rest of the season. Week 2 is at Steele vs D’hanis. @CoachStratWilli @StJPII_FB @CoachGGarza @tapps247

📣 Five You Should Know 📣 2028 Quarterbacks - Fall 2025 With a year of high school football under their belts, the Class of 2028 TAPPS quarterbacks enter their second season and they’re already showing the tools needed to play at the next level. This group brings a blend of size, athleticism, leadership, and playmaking ability, with several stepping into bigger roles this fall. Together, they form a group of rising sophomore QBs in the TAPPS Class of 2028 — the FIVE YOU SHOULD KNOW: 1️⃣ Zac Ryle @ZacRyle 🏫 The Brook Hill School-Bullard @brookhillguard 🎧 Scott Ryle @CoachRyle 🔹 At 6’5”, 210 lbs, sophomore quarterback Zac Ryle steps into his first full season as QB1 for Brook Hill after gaining valuable varsity experience as a freshman. In three games last year, he threw for 335 yards and 6 touchdowns, showing flashes of the arm strength and field vision that make him one of TAPPS’ most intriguing young passers. Ryle is known for his ability to work through progressions, stand tall in the pocket, and deliver strikes with power, traits that already set him apart in the Class of 2028. His size and mechanics give him the physical upside college coaches look for, and his leadership has already been recognized inside the Guards’ locker room. 🔹 Ryle enters 2025 with the tools to become a complete quarterback. Beyond his size and arm strength, he’s already shown poise, leadership, and a strong grasp of the offense. His offseason focus on improving speed and quickness will only make him more dangerous, adding mobility to an already polished passing profile. He is the lead horse in the race to become the most coveted quarterback in TAPPS’ Class of 2028, and if he continues developing and putting in the work, he will only solidify that status. 2️⃣ Rocky Orozco @Rocky_qb9 🏫 Holy Cross of San Antonio @HolyCrossSA 🎧 Mike Harrison 🔹 At 5’11”, 165 lbs, Rocky Orozco is already the varsity starter at Holy Cross and enters 2025 as one of San Antonio’s most intriguing Class of 2028 prospects. A left-handed dual threat with a 4.60 forty, Orozco combines efficiency with explosiveness — completing nearly 70% of his passes last season for 1,347 yards and 23 touchdowns while adding 523 yards and 7 scores on the ground. His ability to extend plays and punish defenses with either his arm or his legs makes him one of the toughest young quarterbacks to gameplan against. 🔹 Beyond the numbers, Orozco brings poise and polish uncommon for his age. He’s confident in the pocket, keeps his eyes downfield when pressured, and shows natural leadership in directing the offense. Early recruiting interest has already followed, with a gameday visit to North Texas @MeanGreenFB and attention from programs like Wisconsin @BadgerFootball. With another year of development — particularly as he adds size — Orozco will rise quickly on recruiting boards. 3️⃣ Cooper Griffin @coop_griffin 🏫 All Saints Episcopal School-Fort Worth @PTFFootball 🎧 Aaron Beck @CoachBeck_PTF 🔹 At 6’2”, 190 lbs, sophomore Cooper Griffin already carries the size and frame that college coaches look for in a quarterback. He’s known for his ability to drive the ball into tight windows, see the field well, and remain poised under pressure. Evaluators highlight his balance in the pocket, clean mechanics, and the confidence to attack vertical concepts. That confidence shows up clearly on film, where he delivers with conviction and control. Griffin has impressed on the camp circuit with strong showings at Vanderbilt @VandyFootball, TCU @TCUFootball, Georgetown @HoyasFB, Tarleton State @TarletonFB and Duke @DukeFOOTBALL, where his arm strength and velocity stood out against older competition. 🔹 Transitioning from a triple-option system to an air-raid offense, Griffin has been sharpening his footwork and pocket movement. A transfer from Grapevine High School, he enters the season as QB2 behind one of TAPPS’ top signal-callers, senior Gavin Beard @GavinBeard26, giving him valuable time to develop within All Saints’ system while learning from an experienced starter. With continued refinement, Griffin has the ceiling to emerge as one of TAPPS’ top quarterbacks in the years ahead. 4️⃣ Ryan Hillner @RyanHillner10 🏫 The Covenant School of Dallas 🎧 Jacob Zinn @CoachJacobZinn 🔹 At 5’11”, 170 lbs, sophomore left-handed quarterback Ryan Hillner takes over as QB1 for Covenant after backing up senior Lleyton Horan @LleytonHoran last season. In limited varsity reps as a freshman, he went 7 of 11 for 122 yards (64%), showing flashes of what’s ahead. On tape, Hillner stands out for the way he rips the ball—he throws with confidence, isn’t afraid to stand in and take a hit, and has the mobility to pull it down and run when plays break down. 🔹 A former 8th-grade Offensive Player of the Year, Hillner pairs arm strength and field vision with sound mechanics and steady leadership. With the reins of Covenant’s offense now in his hands, he’s positioned to make a big leap as a sophomore starter. His ability to deliver the ball with authority, extend plays with his legs, and command the huddle makes him one of the top QB’s you should know in TAPPS’ Class of 2028. 5️⃣ Davis Crumrine @DavisCrumrine_ 🏫 Trinity Christian Academy – Addison @TCAAddisonFB 🎧Trey Haverty @TreyHaverty 🔹 At 6’1”, 185 lbs, sophomore quarterback Davis Crumrine enters the season as one of TAPPS’ most versatile young signal-callers. Crumrine combines dual-threat athleticism with advanced anticipation and field vision. He thrives throwing on the run and improvising when plays break down, while also showing natural leadership that earned him respect as a freshman on varsity. Beyond football, he competes nationally in lacrosse — a testament to his athletic range, toughness, and competitiveness. 🔹 Crumrine’s continued growth will be pivotal for TCA as he battles for the starting job this fall. Coaches and evaluators highlight his poise, awareness, and ability to make plays out of structure, giving him the tools to impact games right away. With added varsity reps and refinement, Crumrine has the upside to climb this list quickly and solidify himself as a 2028 QB everyone should know. 🚀 The Next To Know 🚀 🏅 Nicolas Escudero @Nicoesc_QB 🏫 Concordia Lutheran High School-Tomball 🎧 Willie Amendola @WillieAmendola 🔹 At 6’3”, 200 lbs, sophomore Nicolas Escudero already boasts a college-ready frame and the poise to lead an offense. Ranked the No. 6 pocket passer in Texas by @QBHitList, he pairs a strong arm with natural leadership and a growing football IQ, giving him the tools to emerge as one of the top quarterbacks in TAPPS’ Class of 2028. 🏅 Jace Matias @jacemati 🏫 St Paul Catholic School-Shiner @scs_cardinals 🎧 Barry Wolf 🔹 An athletic QB who can hurt defenses with his legs, Matias looks set to take over as QB1 for the Cardinals. If he grows more comfortable in the pocket to pair with his playmaking ability, he could be special 🏅 Hagen Young @HagenYoung12 🏫 TMI Episcopal–San Antonio @TMIEpiscopal 🎧 Trenton Wesson 🔹 At 6’5”, 185 lbs, Young already has a DI frame that stands out. He has the tools to grow into a major quarterback prospect in TAPPS and as QB1 he has the opportunity to gain experience under center and continue refining his mechanics. 🏅 Eddie Wadas @eddiewadas2028 🏫 John Paul II Catholic High School-Schertz @StJPII_FB 🎧 Stratton Willams @CoachStratWilli 🔹 After a promising freshman season, 5’9”, 150-lb QB Eddie Wadas returns with varsity reps and confidence at John Paul II. He needs to continue developing physically to take the next step, but his awareness, decision-making, and knowledge of the game allow him to play beyond his years.
