@edflynn Yes. Basically the IOC is implementing genetic testing for competition in the female category.
It basically excludes people who have/had testes. That includes individuals like Khelif and normal trans women.
The alternative has proven impractical in terms of fairness.

This is misleading. Imane Khelif is not transgender.
She has an intersex condition and was mistakenly identified as female at birth, despite having XY chromosomes and male gonadic tissue (internal).
She is blameless in this controversy and deserves sympathy, but..

@ElsiesWoke Great points and the “trans” aspect is getting conflated in many of the comments on headlines/posts on which Khelif is the photo/subject.
He comes from a third world country as do Caster Semenya and others where, apparently, this DSD diagnosis at birth is prone to happen.

Last year @SkateCanada announced that it would boycott Alberta after the province returned to purely sex-based competition in sports.
Given this, moral and logical consistency would seem to require that the organization must now also boycott the Olympics.

PJ’s Ten & Nirvana’s Nevermind are both outsold by Alanis Morissette. Not a single REM album is in the top 100 of the 90s. And that’s who I might compare the Hip to come to thi k of it.

My take? If my loved one dies, the least the company they worked for can do is communicate in the official language they used.

Anglos don't get how others feel when we assume everyone speaks our language. We're lucky, but no reason not to temper our luck with respect.

Why do the Liberals hold the CEO of Air Canada to a higher standard of bilingualism than their own appointee as Governor General, who hasn't learned French after four years in the role?
TBH, I would rather have the CEO of our flagship carrier focusing his scarce time on safety and reliability than language training.

Air Canada has gone 43 (!) years without a fatal incident. My entire life up to this point has been lived in a country where the flag carrier never got a single person killed in a crash. The record is a totem to what serious people can accomplish. So naturally, Mark Carney is screaming at them to instead focus on nonsense.
