Interesting GLM rumor from China sources: "Apparently Z.ai has an internal router behind their coding plan that routes your Claude Code query to GLM or Claude depending on if the classifier thinks it is in distribution or not. If it is OOD and also high value, it will route to Claude and then add the trace to the distillation dataset." Seems hard to defeat this since these are real user queries and not contrived. The accounts that generate this distillation data can be made to look like ordinary user accounts but with higher concentration of OOD queries. This looks like a fast-follower strategy that will keep a weaker lab in the game at a lower price point per unit of intelligence or per token.

I stole this idea and now use it with every single employee. It’s the best illustration I’ve seen of teaching someone to be high agency. It says there are 5 levels of work: Level 1: “There is a problem.” Level 2: “There is a problem, and I’ve found some causes.” Level 3: “Here’s the problem, here are some possible causes, and here are some possible solutions.” Level 4: “Here’s the problem, here’s what I think caused it, here are some possible solutions, and here’s the one I think we should pick.” Level 5: “I identified a problem, figured out what caused it, researched how to fix it, and I fixed it. Just wanted to keep you in the loop.” Using this framework, here’s what I say to every new employee… You will live at Level 4 from Day 1 and as we build trust you will rise to Level 5. Being high agency doesn’t just mean tackling problems in this way. It means your entire way of working should be oriented to being a Level 4+ employee. Plz feel free to steal it as well. And ty @stephsmithio for the framework!

🚨This Congo supporter who poses like a statue and doesn’t move for the whole 90 minutes will be at the World Cup game against Portugal 😭🇨🇩

Notice how Cursor isn’t saying “for developers”. Just “Useful AI”. Cursor will likely become a direct competitor to Codex and Claude Desktop. - Their in app browser is great. - Their composer model is good and fast for most tasks They just need to render documents like cowork and codex, and I’d consider using it for most of my work (as a non-dev)

Today, I made 46x my investment in SpaceX. Everyone rewrites history to make themselves a genius. This incredible investment, ironically, happened because of something stupid: The rule of reciprocity. I met Antonio Gracias (then on the board of Tesla and SpaceX) through a mutual friend. He was insanely awesome and gave me great advice, then his firm hired Metalab to do a project for one of their companies. Later, he mentioned they were doing a secondaries/continuation fund for SpaceX. At the time, I was hardcore bootstrapped-pilled/skeptical of all these crazy multi-billion-dollar unicorns, but the rule of reciprocity kicked in. He'd helped me so much. He was a great guy. I should really invest in his thing. Boy, was I ever an idiot. And it pays to be an idiot, apparently. Thank you, Antonio (and Jon) ❤️ In honor of you, I'm naming my new yacht VALOR (only joking, I'm buying Fabergé eggs instead).

There will be a mythos level open source model in a few months that anyone with a $30k machine can run and no letter from any government can stop it
