@InaTailHedged really, none
a. all fake their accounts, though Tencent least, so I guess I prefer Tencent
b. you might get nationalised without compensation anyway.
Egypt's stock market literally went to zero once. You were nationalised without compensation.
That is a possible end.
@JamesGreenhal20@captainjujubean@Wayne_J0nes Marketing costs went up 79% but marketplace revenues went up 58%. Ads as a % of revenue only went up from 11.41% to 12.87%.
Not a perfect analogy, but in the JB Hi-Fi example it'll be like they increased store count 79% and revenues up 60%.
@captainjujubean@edw_yu@Wayne_J0nes Pretty sure JB Hi-Fi didn't have to pay 79% more rent to its landlords in FY21.
$RBL paid acquisition (marketing) costs went from $39.8m to $71.2m in FY21
I don't think it's a valid comparison.
Redbubble $RBL reporting tomorrow.
Gonna be an interesting one.
Still maintain that consensus EPS forecasts of 9 cents for 2022 are waaaayyy too high.
No position.
@JamesGreenhal20@Wayne_J0nes What do you think was so bad about the results? It seems around expectations. 2020 was a very special year for E-commerce, so it's hardly fair to expect growth in 21-22.
@Wayne_J0nes I don't usually do work on 'story stocks'. But you only needed 30 minutes of work months ago to see $RBL's earnings would plunge in 2022.
Rarely seen worse results presentations than today's Redbubble one.
Occasionally worth reminding oneself of what poor quality looks like!
@Principles00 I always see ads for a company that does exactly that with 'free plus shipping', bundle options on the checkout page, and a veryy long back-end
4 Ecom brands that are killing it right now and nobody's talk about:
-Petlabco
-Blissy
-Biotrust
-Orgain
All created recently and all make +$50M per year
Study their funnels and marketing strategy
@michaelpatron0@Molson_Hart Have you thought about buying a ton of Amazon shares. It's not a bad investment and you might feel a tiny bit better when they rip you off, knowing you benefit on the investment side.
@Molson_Hart lol, of course - they make fuckloads especially as average units per order increase. Imagine when it costs 5.00 to send a computer mouse to someone but when a customer gets 20, it only costs 7.00 total - Amazon still raking us for crazy fees.
Does Amazon make money on the shipping and fulfillment it charges FBA sellers?
They don't reveal these data but there are clues implying this is a strong profit center.
Here's one example:
- $5.27 to ship out of our warehouse
- $7.48 to ship out of Amazon.
@JamesonCamp@Yannick_Veys@wizofecom@almightykazs But how would you find an astrology account to buy? Or something that's quite niche. What websites would you use and do they let you filter down to such a specific niche?
6. If you dont have money, you are going to build a twitter and an IG account based on horoscopes and astrology
Now use a tool like Hypefury (twitter) by my friend @Yannick_Veys or Social Studio by @wizofecom and @almightykazs
I’ve joined a few marketers’ email lists lately
And it’s comical how bad their email strategy is
It’s incredible that I only hear from them when they want to sell something
Should be sprinkling in some value at least
Now I’ll have to do a thread on how to email effectively
@edw_yu Hey Edward, it all really depends I guess. You could flip it and say good hosting is one that gives your site the speed and performance it needs to drive traffic. Are you happy with the performance of your website at your current host?
@peterdeptrai No haha I meant - what if your website prices things higher than similar products sold by competitors on Amazon - does it still make sense to list on Amazon then?
@edw_yu If your website has a higher price than your listing on AMZ, unless there are some huge benefits in order directly, customers would go for AMZ for sure.
A few weeks ago, I spent: $6664 (7 days campaign) on Google on one of our brand new products and had 293 sales on the website.
Lots of people saw our ads on Google, then go to AMZ and search for the brand (I only ran brand keywords on AMZ) and ordered there.
(1/2)
But eventually it payed off and I became one of the top online retailers for this manufacture.
To this day, I will still drop big $$ on high quality images. I think it's extremely important for conversion rates.
As I started to get some profits, I bought a few of the best selling items and starting taking my own pictures, showing an array of different angles and how the product actually worked.
I spent months trying to learn photoshop and hating every second of it.
@ssstock Just heard you on the podcast and had to message you somehow... So refreshing to hear an E-commerce person who actually understands stocks!
Is there a way to contact you? Twitter doesn't seem to let me message you.
Was extremely humbled to be invited back on my favorite podcast to discuss fractional ownership investing via stocks.
Had a blast Dan, thanks for the invite.
