@Jared_Carrabis I feel there is a strong culture in the US for caring for their individual local teams over their national team in international competitions (in all sports). Dominicans and Venzuelans are very passionate about their particular local teams, but national selections always go first

I don’t think Team USA didn’t care. They were businesslike in their demeanor, sure. I think the narrative is that it’s hard for USA fans to care as much as other countries because their fandom lies with their MLB teams whereas other countries’ fans only have their national teams.
