THIS IS HOW SOME CULPRITS BRUTALLY KILLED A WOMAN AND HER SIX CHILDREN IN KANO TODAY Today, Saturday January 17, 2026, in the Dorayi Chiranchi area of Kano metropolis, unknown attackers entered the home of Haruna Bashir around 12:10 PM. The children had left their school around 11:00 AM to go home for lunch and were expected to return later. No one in the neighborhood heard any unusual sound when the killers entered the house they managed to get inside and close the door without being noticed. Inside, they brutally murdered Fatima Abubakar (35 years old), the mother (a housewife) and all six of her children. The attackers used sharp hook-like objects to stab and tear at their necks, then struck their heads repeatedly with a heavy metal object until they were all dead. After the killings, the perpetrators threw two of the children into a deep well inside the compound. The eldest daughter, Maimuna (17 years old), was a Hafiza who had fully memorized the Qur’an. The bodies were later discovered and rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, where they were confirmed dead. Relatives said similar brutal attacks have happened recently in nearby areas, including one where attackers removed a woman’s eyes from a close-by house. The Kano State Police Command has already arrived at the scene and launched a full investigation to track down the killers. These kinds of horrific incidents have sadly become more frequent in parts of Kano lately. May Allah forgive the deceased, grant them Jannatul Firdaus, comfort their grieving family, and protect us all from such evil. Ameen.
