@BarcaUniversal Why this premature question? Slow news day??No breaking potential transfer news to report? Flick is still 2 years away and just renewed. Give it a rest!

@CaptainArinze This also explains what my sales people have been experiencing marketing our Hotel management software to hotels not only in the SE and but around Nigeria as a whole. Some understand the need for the software, others underprice it, but the economic situation is the factor here.

My friend who owns a big hotel in the Southeast was lamenting about the cost of operation. He is spending a ridiculous amount on diesel daily. He wants to sell the hotel because he can't take it anymore. I asked him what he was going to do with the huge sum of money if he succeeds in selling it. I was wondering if he was going to start another business in Nigeria. The guy said one of the funniest things I’ve heard this year. I’ve noticed that we no longer hear much about the ease of doing business in Nigeria. People want to stay alive first.

Dear Nigerians, PAY ATTENTION! Lere Olayinka has deleted the tweet that exposed his crime. He deleted it without accountability. The DSS are yet to pick him up. @OlayinkaLere is yet to explain to all Nigerians how he was able to gain unfettered access to INEC’s restricted area of the backend. Wike’s aide is yet to tell us how he managed to publish Emeka Ike’s sensitive data. Professor Joash Amupitan has explanations to make as well. It will cost you nothing to retweet this, until INEC gives a satisfactory explanation. Lere must tell us what happened to the IREV. INEC wrote a whole load of rubbish, but failed to mention @OlayinkaLere name; not once! WHAT DOES THIS TELL YOU? INEC & whoever wrote the rubbish on their behalf, including Lere Olayinka, are laughing at Nigerians behind the scene. Any result/results declared by Joash Amupitan will be REJECTED! INEC WILL SET NIGERIA ON FIRE! #ArrestLereOlayinkaNow !!!

Sports is like dopamine, its just crazy. Yaya Toure said on a recent podcast that he wakes up everyday, feeling useless, he probably does not know what to do with his life, he said his kids ask him why he's not happy. Bro misses the game, he misses the routine, he misses the dressing rooms, he misses 70,000 screaming his name, he misses the adrenaline rush when he hits a 50-yard pass, its just crazy. Imagine playing football everyday from like 5 years old till 35 years old, you retire and all of a sudden, you don't know what to do with your life, because you've done nothing else all your life. You suddenly become a stranger on earth. This is why many of them do their coaching badges before they retire, they go right back into it like they never left, others become pundits, commentators, youth coaches, sports ambassador, they just cannot fucking leave the game, its an addiction. This is what made them who they are, this is what makes them feel important, they miss the love shown by millions of people around the world, so I understand Serena. Give credit to those who leave it and never look back. Yeah, give credit, because it's hard.

@BenUquah @BouafifNour I'm glad you see this too. Lots of people let their country allegiance cloud their judgements. Osimhen leads the line extremely well, high pressing and highly impressive finishing, but he is not a technical striker, poor hold up play, so stylistically, he is not a fit for Barca.

@BouafifNour You guys mentioning Osimhen, are you slow?! You watch football or just follow hype?! He is a really good striker, that's it! Osimhen is technically limited! Poor close control, terrible passing, choppy link-up. Osimhen can't drop deep to properly build up play to save his life!

Julián Álvarez is a good player. That's not the question. The question is whether a club already considering selling Ferran Torres or Jules Koundé to fund other signings, building a stadium on a €1.5bn loan, with squad depth and several other positions still to answer for — should be spending €100m to €120m on a single number nine. Atlético's stance won't soften. Any deal starts north of nine figures and very probably stays there. And Barcelona's recent history with single-position megafees is not pretty. Coutinho, Dembélé, Griezmann — all great players in their own right, all primary causes of the wage bill that eventually broke. The lesson the Laporta 2.0 era has been built on, deliberately or not, is that you don't pay galactic money to plug one position. You give the shirt to Yamal at sixteen. You give it to Cubarsí at seventeen. You bring in Joan García from Espanyol for €25m and watch him win the Zamora. The model has worked because it has refused this kind of deal, not because it was tempted by it. The argument for Álvarez is that he is a generational forward who would slot into Flick's system perfectly. True. The argument against is that the club doesn't have €100m of room without selling two starters — and the moment you do that, you weaken the team to strengthen one position. Sometimes the great signing is the one you don't make. Visca el Barça.

In my view for next season It would be better for the club to sell Casadó, Bernal, and Gerard Martín and take advantage of their high market value Then officially promote Tommy Márques and Álvaro Cortés, while signing Kees Smit along with a top class defender Honestly, I don’t see Casadó and Bernal as impactful players, and I don’t think we would regret selling them, especially since Flick doesn’t seem fully convinced by them. Also, Kees Smit’s talent level is much higher than theirs

As Nigeria counts down to 2027, my team and I have spent the last five months building something big. It’s called Power and Plunder — a series that takes you through the entire history of Nigeria’s leadership. From Tafawa Balewa in 1960 to the current administration, we’re doing deep dives on every single leader who has occupied that office. How they governed. What they built. What they destroyed. And how, for better or worse, each one shaped the course of this country. First episode drops Wednesday, May 6th. Watch this space.

Fellow Nigerians, good morning. I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you. Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances. We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal. More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism. We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power. Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise. Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them. However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building. Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated. And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions. There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline? Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from. Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

'I remember him losing his first league match to lowly Numancia and drawing with Racing Satander. I joined in calling for his head & cursing him. I said 'this one na frypan to fire' 🤣 Thankfully, his mentor & Ceremonial President - Cryuff said- ' That performance at Racing was the best in 15 years. Peo can win everything and surpass me. I am staking my name on him. There's performance and there is the result. Watch the game! No need to condemn him after just 2 matches" Pep went on to win ALL 6 titles in 2009. Then it became clear that we all don't have equal knowledge of the game. There are people who see what we can't. Such is the order of life we must succumb to. We would have made a huge blunder.
