@alexstyl Try opening the SVG file in any browser. The "---" symbols appear to close the comment block.

Another Android Studio change I've been tracking is with Material Symbols. Google is preparing to fully remove deprecated Material Icons from Android Studio in favor of customizable Material Symbols picker :)

Well folks, Android Dev info for you :) Gemini in Android Studio will soon learn from the Android developer website somewhat directly. It will contain a new tool allowing it to search for anything as part of a built-in knowledge dataset based on the Android Dev website :)

📢 The androidx.compose.material.icons library is no longer recommended for displaying Material Icons in Compose. We have stopped publishing updates to this library & it has been removed from the latest Material 3 release, you can still manually reference it if you cant migrate.

@riggaroo That's sad! I didn't have to leave the IDE to get some icons.. This was one of the things that inspired me to compose

Is anybody working on function-based DI framework? Most (all?) frameworks are class-based and don't fit well with Compose (function-based). …and yes I know about compositionLocalOf. But it's not checked at compile-time and is generally just for singletons.

Unfortunately it looks like voyager is abandoned now, with +100 open issues, no new features, and no compatibility with the new Kotlin versions.
Mohamed Rejeb@MohamadRejeb

@androiddevnotes Voyager has a better implementation than Jetpack Navigation because you don't need to create that crazy graph, but I prefer sticking to Jetpack Navigation because it's multiplatform now and it's the official one so it will have better support and faster updates.

@arnogiu With introduction of annotations and annotation processing, I wonder what's the difference between Koin and Dagger or Hilt right now (if we forget about the multiplatform aspect for a moment)?

Setting up #Koin Annotations and KSP in your Android project to work with #Kotlin 2.0.20 and Koin 4.0 is straightforward. With just a few steps, you can start annotating your components directly!

@ColtonIdle @hrachcz The Studio tooling to bulk import and convert SVG to drawables makes this easier, but it’d be nice to be able to directly browse Material Symbols like the site in IDE, and add to the project that way.
