@Jahee7488 @ninaturner Depending on the state, tip earners are sometimes given sub-minimum wages. Some as low as $2-$3 /hr. The employer is supposed to make up the difference if the final wage is under minimum, but wage theft is the most kind of theft in the work place

Reminder: we had a $0 minimum wage in this country and it was disastrous.

That in itself is pretty alarming. Increase in suicide/gang activity also seems like an issue we should be addressing if it is increasing

@ejinshin @RashidaTlaib No, it didn’t the statistics have been manipulated to make it look that way. It includes anyone under the age of 20 which is not an accurate picture given that a lot of the deaths are gang related or suicides.

Just signed a discharge petition* to bring the Assault Weapons Ban Act (HR 698) to the House floor for a vote. Gun violence is an epidemic touching every community. Firearms are now the leading cause of death for children and teenagers in America. This is unacceptable.

@ninaturner Better mass transit infrastructure, better alternative vehicle infrastructure (bikes, e-scooters, etc), and more mixed development will do more for the environment than any electric car.

Electric vehicle tax credits aren’t enough to get us out of the climate crisis.
