This is a very niche tweet, but it seems like two of my favorite restaurants in SF (La Ciccia and Firefly) have yet to be discovered by young people.

@ilyasu Agreed. Went down a rabbit hole a few months ago on the company. If you talk to professional lighting designers, they are still the gold standard in dimming technology

I would fund an effort to write a book about the history and business of Lutron. So interesting (to me) and so secretive!

Those who own a modern Ferrari know how excruciating the tech/infotainment stuff is in these cars While I’m not excited about an electric car (Elkann if you’re reading this, naturally aspirated V12s are all we need, stop fucking around), Ive’s interiors will be better. Bring it!

@agarwal Anyone who thinks a $16 billion budget for a city with a population of 830,000 is appropriate can't be trusted. Period.

@WillManidis Michael Dearing used to teach a sith lord dark arts class where you learned like 20 of these concepts. He stopped years ago

would love someone to write long form on corporate dark arts: 1. snooping calendars effectively 2. managing up by secretly skip leveling 3. memos, and tactically scooping others memos 4. “boys” vs guys the best companies run via obscene levels of corporate dark arts

@lessin I own one of these. This is on the high end, but still within range for a great example (especially if it has papers)

@anothercohen This is super common for coordinating in enterprise sales. Very intuitive to have a single channel per company/opp you’re working. Lots of times those prospects boomerang too, and you then revive the archived channel

I met a company recently that spins up a new Slack channel for every deal that the sales team is working on. There are more than 50 channels and it's literally the same group of people who get added to each. I think i'd kill myself if I worked there

@pitdesi There’s been multiple Reddit posts about this seller over the last few months. Kinda shameless. If it’s AI just tell people, don’t hide it. The seller would probably still sell prints!

a vendor at a craft market in San Francisco got caught passing off AI slop as handmade art there must be a LOT of this out there, just like years ago I saw a dude ripping off "made in china" stickers and saying it was handmade locally

@ankurnagpal The replies to this are amazing. You have a bunch of people - who have never started or run a fund - telling you - someone that has started and runs a fund - that your math is wrong

A dirty secret about venture capital most people don't understand: The actual management fees charged by VC funds is 20%, not 2% You have to pay the fee for all 10 years, even if the fund only invests for 1-2 years On a $1B fund, the fund manager makes $200M no matter what

@bgurley Farley has been beating the drum on this for years now….so it’s hard to understand why Ford products remain so stagnant? External factors?

the reason you feel insane is because all of your "hobbies" are nothing more than glorified consumption. you won't find God in $15k a month of skis, camera gear, or coffee machines. you NEED to create something, just go BUILD, a chair, a bench, carve some wood, anything, please

Many things I love about my American friends: 1. Their excitement when hitting 20K steps. A brief stroll if one is in Europe. 2. Their inability to understand egg plant is actually an Aubergine. 3. Inability to recognise WhatsApp is superior to iMessage. Too many to list!
