A few days into Uruguay 🇺🇾... Here's my opinion on them, both the good and the bad 👇 The good: ✅ VERY nice in general. Kind and funny most of the time ✅ Really safe and developed cities. Punta del Este is on par with any coastal European town ✅ Pretty free in all respects. People don't care about what you do ✅ No immigration (I was told yesterday there are about 120 muslims in the whole country) ✅ 0% taxes for foreign income, so it could be a good play for remote workers The bad: ❌ Very progressive. 8M & feminist signs literally everywhere ❌ It's still LatAm; lots of crazy people in the street (although WAY less than in places like Sao Paulo) ❌ "Expensive" (almost up to Southern European levels, which is honestly still pretty good) ❌ Uruguayans tend to be more introverted and stick to themselves All in all... looks like a great place to start a family, if you don't care about the social issues I might look into it more in depth
