Pakistan isnโ€™t just a nation, itโ€™s a civilisational state. Custodian of the Indus Valley & Gandhara Civilisations. Urbanised 9,000 years ago. Home to the worldโ€™s oldest planned cities. History didnโ€™t begin elsewhere. It began here. #CivilisationalState #PakistanHeritage

Yep, complete bs. Folks donโ€™t read or understand about sangam literature and blabber all sorts of nonsense. Jainism was pushed down south by Asoka and his followers who converted most of north and central India to Buddhism. Manimekalai and Silappadikaram are considered to be post sangam works and authored by Jain poets. Ilango adigal, converted to Jainism while his brother was a Shaivaite king/prince of the Chera lineage. It is true that early chola and pallava kings adopted Jainism as their state religion but they continued to patronize Hindu temples. And yes, Jains contributed a lot to Tamil literature in early part of AD, their decline was brought about by the Bhakti movement of Nayanmars and Alwars, even before Sanakarโ€™s time. Sangam works, prior to any of the Jain literary works, mostly describe the worship of Murugan, Perumal and Kotravai.

Across India, there are countless structures like the Bhojshala, which some believe to be a mosque while others call a temple. Visited one such in Malda, called Adina Mosque. Locals call it an Adinath Temple. These contrasting claims have existed for centuries, leading to several agitations. After several such squabbles, all photography inside is prohibited by the ASI. (Pictures of the bell, lamp, lotus motifs on the walls are available online) The question though is, with hundreds of such examples, where does the demand of reclamation stop? outlookindia.com/national/a-jouโ€ฆ

Letโ€™s say you lost your jewelry. Then when you visit some random wedding you see that there are different people wearing your stuff. Someone is wearing your earrings, someone wearing your bracelet and so on. The question is would you be satisfied confronting only one person who is wearing your stolen stuff? Would you feel ashamed about reclaiming your stuff from others? The real question is why is reclaiming your heritage seen as an unreasonable expectation? Why should one be ashamed about it?

@carlwheless The village from where her parents came from celebrated her being a candidate and anxiously followed the results. But her confusing policies, extreme woke, coziness with the gang of 4, isnโ€™t welcomed by many Indians. Heck, I voted Trump for this reason.

People talk about looks privilege. Vijay, with below-average looks, is a superstar and could win an entire state election on his charisma. Priyanshu Chatterjee is one of the most handsome actors ever, yet he couldnโ€™t build a successful career in a visual medium. The only real privilege in the world is luck.

MGR wiped out Naxals in 1981, started TITAN in 1984, allowed self financing colleges in 1984 which created huge talent pool which gave us head start after 1991. Just because you don't know doesn't mean it did not happen. There are like 100 more adminstrative things first in country he did and some states yet to see few of those.

If I understand the commentaries on BG, the epic war takes place after many rounds of mediation. Duryodhana may have ruled his kingdom well but did not do justice by his cousins. Krishna says war should be the last option and once it has been decided, a warrior has to perform his duties. Walking away from performing his duty results in karmic consequences. If he dies in the war, he gets karmic benefit. Dying in a war is not adharmic as long as the war is for just reasons. In todayโ€™s understanding one can claim this as unnecessary, but you can say that for any war. A war less society is a utopian view and will always be akin to chasing the Holly Grail.

Why choose something morally monstrous and then suffer the karmic consequences afterward? Basic human common sense should have been enough to avoid a war on such a catastrophic scale. Why pursue it at all? Hastinapura was, by most accounts, governed quite effectively under Duryodhana, and the people themselves appeared prosperous and content under his rule. As you were saying, raping is Adharma. Killing, destroying four million people's lives is a million times bigger Adharma than this. Then why did Krishna actually choose the welfare of a compulsive gambler as opposed to four million people? Complete bullshit.

Lord Krishna in the Bhagwad Gita: when adharma rises, a warrior has the duty to fight. Showing misplaced empathy to adharma itself becomes adharma. Arjuna mistakes his emotional attachment and fear of consequences for righteousness. Krishna points out that Arjuna is a warrior/guardian of society and a warriorโ€™s cosmic duty is to protect society from chaos and injustice. โ€‹If Arjuna walks away, evil (adharma) wins by default. Society descends into lawlessness, and Arjuna becomes complicit in that ruin by failing to stop it. Krishna calls Arjuna's hesitation unmanly and dishonorable for a warrior.
Elon Musk@elonmusk

Beware the empathy exploit. Empathy is good and right when thought through (deep), but can be deadly to civilization when simply stimulus-response (shallow). For example, releasing a repeat violent offender may feel good at first (shallow empathy for the criminal), but it is wrong to do so when that person will go on to hurt or murder innocent victims, as there should be deep empathy for future victims.

Premalatha and Udhayanidhi spoke well, with harsh criticism of Vijay & TVK. Vijay reads from a prepared script. Very flat & dull. He needs to really up his game. Assembly requires quick repartee. You have to be on your feet. You have to be hard hitting.
