The problem with consuming too much political content and feeding too much of your energy to it, especially in times like these, is you position yourself as a spectator and cheerleader as opposed to an active participant. You keep waiting for history to happen, for “someone to do something.” The problem with this approach is that by the time things actually happen you get caught off guard and steamrolled by the big events. Time spent scrolling and commenting ended up being wasted time you can never recover. On the other hand, if you diligently prepare now and get things in order, when history does happen, you’ll be prepared to engage instead of being sidelined.
