Are friends electric?
@electricdave68
Professional time waster. Cars, trains, planes, boats, food, beer, music, whisky and general daftness 😀.

@JoeBrownLondon These were my local trains when I was growing up. Lovely units!

#OnThisDay 41 years ago the final Merseyside Wirral Electrics Class 503 service ran. The first batch was built by the LMS in 1938, this driving trailer M29276M was one of the originals: looking anachronistic here in the relatively new Liverpool Loop Line buff.ly/CyUtbto

@MrJamesMay @DeborahMeaden Science Museum Store in Wroughton even better. Stuffed full of goodies in a new purpose built building, and it’s on my doorstep. Well worth a visit.
English

And there we have it…. Turns out Nature and The Natural World is very much part of our heritage.

@Hush_Kit We had a Wessex land in our school field. (It was a planned visit).
English

@steve220459 @karenfthompson We knew it as greaseproof sandpaper at school.

Sitting in bed with a cup of tea ..
Working out the shopping list for the week ..
So my Twits of a certain age..
Who remembers Izal toilet roll ..
My grandfather didn’t like the “soft stuff”
As he said it stuck to his bum 😮
So we always had this .
Nasty scratchy stuff that almost gave you paper cuts on your delicate little bottom ..
The only thing I found it was good for was ..
Using it as tracing paper .. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@MrJamesMay @AllisonPearson I’d replace Tinky Winky with the Clangers!
English

@AllisonPearson Dill the dog, bagpuss, Trumpton mayor, Tinky Winky.
English

@mikedroit @CLondoner92 Complicated and more expensive to run than the Metrobus and subsequent Olympian, I think the Titans still went on to have a decent length of service in London.
English

@railnigel RHDR is awesome. One of my favourites. I’ve done 2 driver experiences from New Romney across the marsh to Dungeness and loved every second. Just wish I lived closer.
English

I know - I’m ashamed it’s still on my ‘to do’ list - as is (red face!) the RHDR!

@railnigel You rarely really surprise me much on the railway front [I mean that as a compliment]; but the fact you haven't done this yet, actually does!
English

@CARandDRIVER Hell yeah. In a world of SUVs, we need more wagons!

Genesis revealed the G90 Wingback concept yesterday, a wagon version of its flagship luxury sedan. The roofline has been extended, and there are more aggressively styled bumpers, flared fenders, and plenty of aerodynamic devices. While a production version of the Wingback isn't officially confirmed, the company says it is under consideration. Should Genesis build this?
English

Wish it had come through the platform shown on RT Trains!
Had the video set up for platform 2 and it came through 3 because of a freight - the noise was incredible!!

@Lucy_Worsley A beautiful vessel, and a great excuse to be late home! Well worth a trip - we sailed on her on the Bristol Channel a couple of years ago. Would love to sail up the Thames through Tower Bridge on her.
English

@railnigel Nice view, good speed but I fear the train itself is the weak link here. Over here in GWR land our electric cucumbers already seem to be showing their age. Last few I’ve been on rattled and shook. MK3 or 4 much more comfortable!
English

@BronHebog @MrTimDunn The Waverley is rather wonderful, and so is the Shieldhall, with its triple expansion engjnes which you can see working when she’s underway.
English

@MrTimDunn Amazing team work and trust between the bridge officers and engineers - imagine driving your car with the throttle controlled by someone locked in the boot who you could only send text messages to!
English

Tonight! At 21:30, the world’s last ocean-going paddle steamer, @PS_Waverley, makes its triumphant return to London. @TowerBridge will open and if you live round here you’ll hear ship horns sounding. Over next 2 weeks it’s doing many Thames/London trips, tickets available online

@railnigel Useful to know, as I had wondered why I couldn’t find it on the shelves recently. I was a big fan of the coal tar shampoo. It really worked for me, and I even liked the smell! I’ll try calling.
English

Amazingly (so partial hat tip) Neutrogena replied to my beef about them discontinuing T Gel coal tar shampoo...a few friends here echoed my disappointment so please not and and call...!

@railnigel Not been in there for many years but it doesn’t look as if it’s changed. Certainly worth a visit if in the area

@80s_channel …..and Stanley knifes. I found out the hard way where the sharp edge was!
English

@BlickyIan @CcibChris @TomHam70488209 I’m sure I heard a similar explanation as to why RAF Vallet had Gnats and Hunters in the 70s. Used to love seeing both around the hills and valleys of Snowdonia.
English

I don't think I'd have fitted in a Gnat- in fact I'm sure that's why the operated Gnats and Hunters at Advanced Flying Training - I gather it was like a go kart ... @CcibChris or @TomHam70488209

@Clinnick1 Route Number 2? Used to ride that when in Budapest on business. Made going to the office a bit more bearable. A lovely city.
