@JCeacc @DeclanWesting @DJSnM Emotional people governed by illogical laws. In this instance it’s ITAR. Here’s an example for you, or someone in Ukraine. If ur foreign service buddy from America is given a pair it’s okay, if he lets you use a pair he’s violated itar.

@ageofkrakoa @Unpop_Science How big is the overlap between fishermen, and comic book enjoyers? People still regularly shoot them, and before it was considered wildlife harassment you’d donate to someone who went around in a tinny tossing m80s. Thirty guys on the sand with lines is a seal buffet lol

Monk seal attacker’s lawyer says he was radicalized by extremist anti-pinniped rhetoric from fishermen and politicians in Washington: “He lives in Washington State, he’s a fisherman… and if you’re familiar… if you’ve ever been to Seattle… the sea lions are very aggressive.”

@DeclanWesting @DJSnM Nerd! Ur industrial ancestors would be ashamed in whatever you are. Seriously though, who do you think is a bigger spender and better customer to companies making thermal sights? group A. All of the hunters in America or group .B Pajama militants in areas serviced by DHL?

@DJSnM You can still make them, you just can't export them. It does limit your market... But I wonder what percentage of the thermal imaging market is outside the US anyways. Not a lot of night coyote and hog hunting going on in France.

@i2cjak @DJSnM I can’t find it right now, but if my memory serves me a video of a (supercam I believe) thermal drone module being tested in China was very popular on this app a few years ago. The video was inside a factory, but the thermal camera was pointed outside onto a highway

@i2cjak @DJSnM Both the Russians and Ukrainians have produced fpv drones with thermal modules from China? Are we talking about sights? If so Chinese thermal sights similar to pulsar are used in abundance in any mena conflict post 2020

@DJSnM So whats the dealio with buying gen 3 tubes from alibaba? I’ve seen part sellers based in America use the same photos as alibaba sellers, and the never ending supply of refurbished pvs14s is a pretty big sign imo. The rest can be made to order if you know kicad and solidworks.

@treeinthewall @JT_Grindrod @Nexuist @ComfySipper 2 issues can occur at the same time btw. U don’t have to ignore failures of dispatching to acknowledge the officers. Or vice versa. It boils down to failing the most basic duties. Was the lack of urgency or failure of basic duties that put the officers in the most remote lot?

@electrichoepole @JT_Grindrod @Nexuist @ComfySipper Ywah you totally missed the fact there was no urgency reported and are instead grasping on the fact they reported it as a woman. I think the dispatchers not telling the police its an emergency is more important.

@kahn_enjoyer @hisoandso @Paul_provalone @Nexuist @ComfySipper Cops are humans yada yada, humans make mistakes blah blah blah. Okay, hear me out, maybe we just stop hiring shitty humans, and hire police who are more upstanding than the typical citizen. Both mentally and physically.

@kahn_enjoyer @Paul_provalone @Nexuist @ComfySipper Nah, pull It up on Google earth. Parking lot f, seems to be the one they chit chatted at before deciding it was all clear. It’s also furtherest away from any administrative buildings, or anything that isn’t a sports field/area. Nice spot to not be bothered!

@amcking1971 @JT_Grindrod @Nexuist @ComfySipper Google earth the school and set historical maps accurately. It’s very likely they never entered the campus and simply passed by on the main road. You couldn’t drive through those parking lots at 3:14 or later and not immediately see his vehicle.

@electrichoepole @JT_Grindrod @Nexuist @ComfySipper The dispatchers told the officers it was a woman locked in her van. No sense of urgency was given so the officers are looking for someone who accidentally locked themself in a van. You really cant expect the officers to know everything from nothing.

@JT_Grindrod @Nexuist @ComfySipper Fucking hell man 3:14pm and “early evening”. So they aren’t even searching a crowded but small parking lot, but a deserted school yard. My resource officer was a cunt, and would tow ur shit, but at least he was on top of it!

@JT_Grindrod @Nexuist @ComfySipper The school had four extremely small, and navigable parking lots. This isn’t searching a Walmart sized parking lot like other schools may have. Complete lack of care. His father discovered him, and his car? I don’t believe the school resource or local officers ever bothered.

@LogKa11 Abysmal target placement, even with the driver eliminated, any equipment operator can operate up armored variants. Why in the world did they aim for the cab? They already know how it’s essentially impossible to provide adequate armor for sensitive hydraulics on such equipment

@MaybePinkeagle @ChaseEnCashe It’s not impossible, but it’s such a headache, no one would go out of their way to do it solely for a Chinese car. The yearly crossing is no biggy, creating and maintaining a legal entity in Mexico is the harder part. Canada has been very slow, slower than Australia or Israel
