While the results of the TN & Kerala elections are a result of anti incumbency, the results of Bengal cannot be explained by this alone. The BJP was weak there & has succeeded only due to the combined might of the ECI, the Central govt & their resources being deployed for the BJP

Flag-bearing BJP thugs are going door to door, threatening non-veg shops and biryani sellers, ordering them to shut down, relocate, and erase their names. This is not a rumour. This is happening in Bengal, today, right now. This is the 'Poriborton' BJP has dragged to this soil.
Give them another day and they will move to ban the sale and consumption of non-veg food altogether. They will stand at your doorstep and dictate what you can eat, what you can cook, what you can serve your children. They will impose their dietary diktat on a land whose identity, whose culture, whose very soul is inseparable from its food, its flavours, and its freedom of choice.
Bengal did not vote for this. Bengal will not stand for this. We will defend your plate, your kitchen, your right to live as Bengalis have always lived. Freely, fiercely, and on their own terms.

TMC’s record of violence has finally caught up with it.
Shova Majumdar, an 85-year-old woman, was brutally assaulted by Trinamool Congress workers ahead of the 2021 elections in West Bengal. They came looking for her son. When they couldn’t find him, they turned their violence on her. She later succumbed to her injuries.
This is the reality of TMC’s street-level politics — intimidation, brutality, and fear.

Constitutionally, Article 172 fixes the Assembly’s five-year term, indirectly framing the tenure of a Chief Minister. Article 164 makes it explicit that the Chief Minister holds office during the pleasure of the Governor. In practice, that pleasure is contingent on majority support in the Assembly. Without numbers, continuation in office is untenable. Once results are notified, the Governor can invite the majority party to form the government, at which point she's history.

Mamata Banerjee thinks that if she doesn’t resign or vacate the CM house/office, the BJP govt will be forced to remove her, and then she can create anarchy.
One thing she has forgotten is that if she really had such support, she wouldn’t be losing like this, even her own seat.
Also, all those goons who supported her will either go into hiding or try to please the BJP; they won’t stand with her, knowing her fate.
