Russia’s reckless violation of Romanian airspace and disregard for civilians is unacceptable. The U.S. stands with Romania and our NATO allies against this provocative behavior. We must bolster our deterrence and make clear that we will not give up one square inch of NATO.

@InfoAgeStrategy In that case it's worse being America's friend than it is being their enemy. America launches their weapons into Russia through Ukraine and Ukraine takes all the hits.

It's pretty black and white, folks. Russia is an enemy, and Ukraine is a friend.

@RepLuna Russia is an acute enemy of the United States. Ukraine poses no threat to Americans and seeks to be a contributor to our security. Ukraine has agreed to every ceasefire President Trump has brokered. Russia has not and is the ongoing aggressor and warmonger.

Russia, belligerently and unprovoked, has attacked Romania. Families sleeping in their homes are the target of war criminal Putin’s missiles and Iranian drones. This is not the first Russian attack on a NATO state. Deterrence is the only way to stop Russia’s perverse acts. Russia understands only the language of force. The failed Soviet Empire is dead and must never return.

@EndGameWW3 They run these Russian soldiers are dying in mass numbers every time Russia escalate in hopes that this propoganda reaches Russian ears to cause fear, uncertainty and doubt. It's bullshit. Russia at its peak had half a million troops in Ukraine.

@steven_seegel Considering that if not for the US and NATO this war would have never started, I don't know what the F you are even talking about. It's not even a proxy war at this point. NATO is actively attacking Russia and it's assets abroad.

A US position to sit on the sidelines and let Putin have his brutal geopolitical reign, and not respond meaningfully to Kremlin criminality, and offer less defence support to EU-Ukraine, is going down in 2026 as a historic failure. The US absence of support to Kyiv is palpable.

It's like that like that is repeated in the west about how Russia will defeat Ukraine in three days. I looked for the original source and it's not Russian. The last Ukranian bit makes more sense when you watch these horrific videos of Ukrainian Military kidnapping random man of the streets and throwing them in the front with two weeks of basic training.

We're all familiar with the line 'West will fight to the last Ukrainian'. It's been repeated so many times that it passes uncontested, and Russian agency media (in the widest sense) recite it as the pinnacle of inhuman Western cynicism. Less known is it's true origin. 1/13

@JlB77007 @Ania_In_UA Ukraine was better under Unikovich. You know less death, half the population didn't leave the country and he cared about the retired. War, death, corruption and destruction was a result of the ukranians becoming closer to the US.

@Ania_In_UA He does not give any credit to Putin for orchestrating elections of pro Russian candidate in Ukraine. Putin just exported the election fraud technologies that he used in Russia. Ukrainian were smart enough to say No.

Bullshit mixed with some truth. True that these plans take time to put together like using Intel to determine targeting sites but the triggering events were continued bombing of energy infrastructure, flying drones over the Baltics and the final order was given after Ukraine killed 25 kids in a dormitory. Anyone know the casualty number that Russians attack on Ukraine was last night? How many civilians were killed?

Adapting Putin's "retaliation" framing for last night's attacks on Kyiv is such BS, @CNN @TimListerCNN. It is long-since known that attacks of this scale can't be ordered and executed overnight but require extensive planning and stockpiling on the side of the Russians.

Since Ukraine began to increase attacks on Russian oil refineries, Russia has been looking for an excuse to carry out an indiscriminate missile strike on central Kyiv - even before Putin’s little Red Square parade, so the warning of a potential Oreshnik strike is not surprising.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський@ZelenskyyUa

Our intelligence services reported receiving data, including from American and European partners, about Russia preparing a strike with the Oreshnik missile. We are verifying this information. We are seeing signs of preparation for a combined strike on Ukrainian territory, including Kyiv, involving various types of weaponry. The specified intermediate-range weapons could be used in such a strike. It is important to act responsibly on air-raid alerts, starting this evening. Russian madness truly knows no bounds, so please protect your lives – use shelters. Second, we are drawing the attention of our partners in the United States and in Europe to the fact that the use of such weapons and the prolongation of this war also sets a global precedent for other potential aggressors. If Russia is allowed to destroy lives on such a scale, then no agreement will restrain other similar hatred-based regimes from aggression and strikes. We count on a response from the world – and on a response that is not post factum, but preventive. Pressure must be put on Moscow so that it does not expand the war. Third, we are preparing our air defense as much as possible, and we will respond fully justly to every Russian strike. We have given permission for a parade, but Russia has no permission for madness. This war must be ended – we need peace, not some missiles satisfying the sick ambitions of one individual. I thank everyone helping to protect lives. Once again, please take care of yourselves and use shelters tonight.

Following Ukraine’s targeting of a Russian ‘Rubicon’ drone unit headquarters, which Russia has said hit a student dormitory, killing over a dozen people, the U.S. State Department has issued a warning to U.S. citizens in Kyiv. Per the release, the likelihood of a large missile attack is high and U.S. citizens in Kyiv should heed all directives to shelter. This follows Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s warning that Russia is planning a large missile attack that may include the use of the Oreshnik IRBM.

@dim0kq What was the point of this attack because there is no military installation near by. These are 14 to 18 year old students of a high school. It wasn't a result of electronic jamming and seems deliberately done by Ukraine. The question is what's the motive?

@MarioNawfal FFS they can’t even stop unvetted migrants crossing the Channel and stabbing up the natives. Not even a chance against the Russians. And secondly why would Russia be interested in ‘ taking ‘ a backwards shithole like the U.K. ? It’s a zero sum game 🤷🏼‍♂️

🇬🇧 The British Army is preparing for a potential war with Russia in 2030 by turning a London Underground station (Charing Cross) into a secret underground NATO command bunker. They’re running full war games simulating a Russian invasion of the Baltics, complete with deep strikes, electronic warfare, and drone ops 86 feet below commuters. Britain is treating 2030 as the danger year and training accordingly. Mind the gap… and the incoming missiles.

@RWApodcast Oh time for Russian "retaliations" then. Are you going to hit a children's hospital? Ooops, already done. A cancer children's hospital? Nope, too late. If anyone is in the delusional state of thinking that Russia has any morality left to lose, they're terribly wrong.

Clearly targeted - not shot down, not thrown off course by electronic warfare - since 4+ drones directly hit the dorm full of teenagers. It's another entry in a very long list of reasons why there is virtually nothing Russia could do that would not be morally justified.

The global south didn't give an F because we only want them to care about our bs and don't return the care when it is them suffering. They think we are hypocritical assholes and probably the cause of the many world problems (historically we colonized the global south and now take advantage of their resources)

When Russia invaded Ukraine, the vast majority of the Global South stayed neutral and most of the radical left was unwilling to clearly and unequivocally condemn Russia for its actions. It was their opportunity to finally prove that they're on the side of liberal universalism and that they, too, are willing to participate in building a juster world for everyone, but the opposite happened. They were instead worried about their good relations with Russia and didn't feel like the war concerned them It made me realise that the Global South uses terms like human rights, international law etc. only when it's convenient to them, just like the West does. It shattered my belief that a world order could be built without a hegemon enforcing it. It shifted my outlook on geopolitics much more towards realism. Eventually this resulted in me understanding that different nations and cultures have their own proper interests that can be diametrically opposed to one another. Once you lose your faith in some kind of universal humanity, you have to stop being a leftist.

looking back these results were actually kind of crazy. how or why did so many turn from the left to the right?

Armenia is steadily moving closer to the EU ahead of its parliamentary elections in June, even as Moscow tries to exert pressure on Yerevan. The EU has provided €30 million for military equipment, but this is modest compared to the more than €1 billion in arms contracts Armenia has already signed with France and India. At the same time, Russian weapons are being gradually phased out of service. A young, digital generation increasingly feels looked down on by Russia and is turning away from it, steadily eroding Moscow’s soft power.

I didnt even noticed Han Zheng at all. (Not even heard of him) Wang Yi is way higher profile internationally I have to say
Ken Cao-The China Crash Chronicle@Ken_LoveTW

Beijing has now downgraded Russia’s diplomatic priority and elevated the United States to the highest level of priority. Last week, when President Trump visited, Beijing sent Vice President Han Zheng to receive him. This time, for President Putin’s visit, Beijing sent Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The difference is important. Han Zheng holds a “national-level” rank, while Wang Yi holds a “vice-national-level” rank. Clearly, Beijing is signaling that its diplomatic priority toward the United States is now higher than toward Russia. This downgrade of Russia’s priority was obviously intentional. Beijing could easily have sent Han Zheng again to receive Putin if it wanted to. If Beijing had done that, it would have implied that China viewed Russia and the United States as equally important, giving both leaders the same level of treatment and attention. But for Trump, if Xi Jinping treated Putin with the exact same level of ceremony and prestige, Trump would not feel that he had received special treatment. Now, by giving Putin a slightly lower level of reception than Trump, Xi makes Trump feel he received the highest-level treatment possible. At the same time, Beijing is sending an important signal to Washington: China now values its relationship with the United States more than its relationship with Russia. In other words, Beijing has elevated U.S.-China relations to the highest strategic priority, even if it means sacrificing part of its relationship with Russia in order to stabilize ties with America. But by doing this, Beijing inevitably risks offending Russia, because from Moscow’s perspective, this looks like a form of betrayal. Although Russia may not have the economic power to punish China the way the United States can, Putin still holds one very powerful card: the “America card.” Right now, America’s primary strategic threat is China, not Russia. That is why after taking office, President Trump sought to pursue a “reverse Nixon strategy” of aligning with Russia to counter China, just as Nixon once aligned with China to counter the Soviet Union. The United States has long extended an olive branch to Russia in hopes of jointly balancing against China, but Putin has so far refused to accept it. However, if Xi Jinping angers Putin and seriously damages China-Russia relations, and if Putin eventually accepts America’s offer to work together against China, Xi would be caught completely off guard. This shows that Trump’s visit to Beijing may indeed have had a meaningful effect in driving a wedge between China and Russia. The so-called China-Russia friendship may be starting to crack apart.
