Every dollar earned below $184,500 a year has a Social Security tax of 12.4%. Everything after that cap is exempt. If we lift this cap on the wealthiest earners, Social Security would be fully funded till 2070. The cap should not exist.

Dems have a lot of intra-mural arguments about flat universal benefits vs means-tested programs but Social Security (to maintain a pseudo-insurance structure) has a structure that's the opposite of means-testing where richer people get higher benefits.

He's wrong. Per pupil spending has more than doubled since 2000. We have more money, fewer kids to educate, and a bloated education bureaucracy that grew by more than 8,000 non-instructional staff in our schools. High property taxes are a choice, and districts have chosen poorly.
