My parents bought their house in the 80’s in north London for £125k that home is now worth nearly £2 million.. they live on a pension.. property rich cash poor !!! If Burnham brings in the 0.48% tax that would make them liable to a council tax bill of £9600 a year Anyone else see the problem here ?

@eojlc89 @implausibleblog It is a regional monopoly, not a competitive market, because there are no alternative suppliers. So they get to charge us extortionate prices to line the pockets of their shareholders while actively dumping shit into our rivers.

I can understand it not being mandatory but 2-3m don't have photo id mostly unemployed and disabled. The groups they are looking to help into work.

@BenGrahamUK @PolitlcsUK Among what others have said, he’s also scrapped the unpopular digital ID scheme which was projected to cost £1.8 billion to use those funds for cost of living relief. Reform UK was also strongly against the introduction of digital IDs, so I don’t see any negatives here.
