The end of an interesting thread from @Shanice_OM in response to the video I posted yesterday. I think where we differ is on analysis of *why* abolition and other very radical ideas appeared to break through. If I’m understanding correctly, @Shanice_OM thinks they broke through because they were genuinely attractive to a wide range of people in late 2010s/early 2020s. I think that understates extent to which they *appeared* to be more popular than they actually were because those who disagreed preferred to stay silent.
