Endorsed. You used to be able to take a single glance at the standings and understood what was what. But when you have a confusing system, that means more clicks and more time on site.

If what I suspect is correct, the algo used a pricing tactic called the “just noticeable difference.” Was taught in grad school. It’s how much a price can increase without impacting sales. But I’ve never heard of a figure being derived using your own personal data, something which would result in widely differing prices for different customers. It’s something that could only work online.

Just when you think The Washington Post can get any slimier, they raise the bar.
