@floorkoppejan @grok @palpeet Sowieso is de regio Amsterdam 10-15% beter betaald dan het gemiddelde van Nederland. Dat is helemaal niet gek, veel kosten liggen er ook 10-30% hoger. Dat een ambtenaar in dezelfde baan in Amsterdam een iets hoger salaris heeft dan in Hoogeveen vind ik niet zo gek.

@SteveLawrence_ @modacitylife I’m not saying there is no existing good infrastructure. My point is that the newly introduced ‘bike zone’ signs are a very lazy way of increasing bike safety. In other Dutch cities, introducing this sign goes hand-in-hand with physical infrastructure redesign.

@modacitylife As a daily cycle commuter i find the lack of self awareness incredibly obnoxious. Your primary goal is safety, yours and others, then it's a sense of safety. Its nice to talk yes, not in a complex urban setting though

@FlorisvB @seatsixtyone Amsterdam - Hamburg is a 5:15hr train or 05:25 bus. I doubt if there is really a market for a night train. The current routing from Amsterdam to Prague, via Berlin, seems sufficient. Hamburg and Berlin both make more sense as frequent day trains.

@seatsixtyone I dont really get this route. Sure, Liège is a 197.000 pop city, but it could have run through the regular Rotterdam-Amsterdam route as well. I'm sure there's demand for Amsterdam -Hamburg traffic

@Tammie1808 Sterker nog: cijfermatig was het een winter van niks in NL. Het koudegetal (waarmee de hoeveelheid vorst wordt aangeduid) komt uit op 15... terwijl circa 70 "normaal" is. Er was alleen vaak neerslag met temperaturen rond nul. Moet je nagaan wat een 'koude winter' zou zijn 😉

Unfortunately, @snalltaget's Oslo-Malmo train seems restricted to daytrippers with briefcases & small daypacks. International travellers with a normal long-haul 79cm suitcase or 67cm backpack seem unwelcome. As a result, I won't be showing this train on Seat61.
