EmmausHoppas המשיח הוא אדון
@emmaus_e
Bible-believing Christian. Willing to civilly discuss. No argument via YouTube. No TL;DR. Blatant blasphemy/Antisemitism may get you a block.

@CredoMilesX @MrCasey62 @Brosephos Apology accepted. Now, if you want to have friendly discussion, name the topic.
English

@PirroMolossiano @MrCasey62 Like it or not Catholicism incorporates a lot of ideas that are not to be found in first century Christianity nor in biblical Judaism. However, there are analogs in Roman paganism. Don’t mean offense, but that’s a legitimate observation. If you want to discuss, let me know.
English

@emmaus_e @MrCasey62 Like, your main argument is to say catholics based this on pagans, when pagans fucking hated the idea.
With the Emperor even reporting how wicked Christians were for having martyrs and relics with bones or cloth from killed disciples, your entire point+
English

@CredoMilesX @MrCasey62 @Brosephos I only claimed to be a “student of Hebrew”. That’s a wide range. I’m a beginner. But, I can read Hebrew writing, and speak in a rudimentary way. It comes in handy for Bible-study. Bro’s quote from Joshua was another attempt to not answer my question, מי ייתן ותהיינה לו שלוש חמות
Română

@CredoMilesX @MrCasey62 @Brosephos Bro called me a liar. When I asked him 2 explain why, he spent the next several tweets not doing that. He wanted answers about my Hebrew. I held the answer conditional to him answering my question. He chose not to. I muted.
You may call that proof; I call it changing the subject

@RealPostFolder • Practicing Christians (who attend regularly & say faith is very important) were more likely to donate than non-practicing Christians or nonbelievers (e.g., 95% vs. 51% in one 2022 report).
• Religious Americans were more likely to give to both religious & secular charities.
English

@PirroMolossiano @MrCasey62 That seems to be the Catholic way.
English

@emmaus_e @MrCasey62 Pagans actually disliked it...so I will just ignore this
English

@r4fthrs1776 @MrCasey62 Very little of what the Pope says is gospel… that’s the problem.
English

@emmaus_e @MrCasey62 Not everything the Pope says is 'gospel' and He is only considered ' in very special (and rare) circumstance. We are not obligated to follow or agree with his non-doctrine opinions. Personally I think he should just stick to spiritual matters as Christ did.
English

@marcado_razon @AlexDuncanTX What I quoted is not diplomacy, it’s Roman heresy, totally incompatible with Christianity.
“Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.”
English

@emmaus_e @AlexDuncanTX Are you saying that you don't know what Diplomacy is?
Jesus taught us that there isa time to be wise and prudent, like with the woman at the well.
See also Matthew 10:6.
English

Can @AlexDuncanTX make up his mind? He blames Catholics for the Crusades and being too friendly with Islam ? Maybe he is just full of hate ?

Alexander Duncan@AlexDuncanTX
Pope Leo is an anti-Christ.
English

@CredoMilesX @MrCasey62 I think understand papal infallibility well enough… that why I asked the question.
Now, let me give you a chance to prove that you’re not just another, ignorant, Twitter Catholic who calls names and runs away. What do you mean I faked knowing Hebrew?
English

@emmaus_e @MrCasey62 Spoken like a true idiot
Please look up papal infallibility then get back to me.
Also you faked knowing Hebrew
English

@PirroMolossiano @MrCasey62 People do a lot of things; it doesn’t make it right. Some converted pagans may have just followed the pattern of their old ways, not understanding the law of God. Unless scripture endorses it, it remains forbidden.
English

@emmaus_e @MrCasey62 From what we know from the Roman emperors own report of what ensued,Christians were seen doing it already.
Being accused of ghost worship that was against their faith.
English

@CatholicDrip___ Let me say I am not for relics, but I am not necessarily against them. I’m cautious and against anything that’ll belie scripture. As for burial, I’m for it. It has a strong tradition and precedent in the law of God. Displaying bodies, except as a warning to evildoers, doesn’t.
English

@JFuturess @BeSaintly If you look at the Roman church’s first centuries, you don’t see the modern conception of pope. The name wasn’t used, there wasn’t even a monarchic Bishop (but council of them), and nothing remotely akin to a supremacy. In studying “1 Clement,” one catholic author said this…

English

Three Popes are mentioned in Scripture
Saint Peter
Saint Linus (2 Timothy 4:21)
Saint Clement (Philippians 4:3)

𝕊𝕠𝕝𝕒 ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕕 🎚️@sola_chad
This man got a tattoo of all the verses that mention a pope.
English

@LighttheFireIAu “Full of grace” means full of favor. When Stephen was described as being “full of grace” in Acts, it didn’t mean he was sinless either.
English

@jdskyles "But 'the rock was Christ, in confessing whom, as also the whole Church confesses, Simon was called Peter."
- St. Augustine of Hippo, Retractations
English

Jesus literally changed the man’s name to “Rock”.
J.R. Miller@jrmiller777
Christ alone is the rock upon which the church is built. Not Peter. Not Popes.
English

@PirroMolossiano @MrCasey62 Even if true, still not an example of an apostle setting the example by praying to i.e. a martyred Stephen. There is every indication in scripture that praying to deceased righteous people is still forbidden. The 1 pos example is Saul contacting Samuel; didn’t work out so well.
English

@emmaus_e @MrCasey62 After most of the apostles' deaths, Peter cloth was reported to be regarding miracle work.
