I'm seeing a number of oil longs worried that oil isn't already well over $100-120. It's no big deal. Oil shorts are completely screwed. The fundamentals are getting tighter and tighter. The more they hang in, the more they fight reality, and the more offsides they will be. It doesn't matter what happens in the immediate. Fighting reality doesn't work in the long term. To those long energy: Not only are fundamentals on your side. But positioning is too. Whenever the squeeze begins in earnest, it will very quickly take prices closer to what they should be (to establish supply/demand balance). Considering the supply deficit is ~10mmbpd and will be much higher (as the Middle East increasingly sputters, and even Russia becomes a minus): the price is going well past the all time high. There's nothing to stop it. Let the shorts fight reality some more, if they wish it. It will just trap them further and add juice to the squeeze. #OOTT

I’m an AI PhD at Oxford wanted to move to the US for years, but it never worked out. Maybe I can share why.
