Effectively, Republicans are given free-rein to gerrymander nationwide, but Democrats are largely going to be prohibited from responding. Republicans in OH, TX, NC, LA, TN, FL, MO, etc may have cost California Republicans a few seats, but might have been able to successfully shield their party from public opinion for at least 2026.
Dems tried to take the high road and disarmed themselves under the hopes the GOP was going to just agree to stop gerrymandering. At least in hindsight, that was… dumb.

In a win for Republicans, the Virginia Supreme Court has overturned the state's redistricting referendum. Virginia's current 🔵6-5🔴 congressional map will remain in place, instead of a 🔵10-1🔴 map.

I think we’re probably going to have to see a massive AOC defeat in a presidential election before it sinks in, but progressives need to be told, in no uncertain terms, they their entire political agenda is hopeless and all they’re doing is continuing to empower Republicans to build a permanent majority while they hide out on the coasts in their urban ivory towers
