Strong believer that kindness, pragmatism, and listening make life better for all of us. Be kind. Pro capitalist. Not a partisan.

On March 17, 2026 — twelve days after the House passed the millionaire tax, thirteen days before the Governor signed it — Solicitor General Noah Purcell sent an email to the AGO's litigation team. The subject line had changed. It no longer said "Attorney-Client Privilege." It said: "Attorney work product." 🧵

New: The liberal billionaire @TomSteyer has been paying influencers to boost his campaign for California governor - and many are doing so without disclosure. One big TikToker, who called the 68-year-old a "vibe," didn't mention he'd been paid $10,000 wapo.st/4twTpOh

If I build a home with my resources and my labor, I should be free to live in it. This principle applies to anything that requires one’s assets, creativity, and labor. Anything else is fundamentally illiberal.

We cannot allow the AG’s office, the SoS’s office, the Solicitor General and staff, Public Disclosure Committee and the Supreme Court to all be subjects of any Governor, let alone one willing to break the rules. When the checks are unwilling to balance we lose.

The debate over Washington’s new millionaires tax has dominated political and legal conversations for months, raising questions about whether the tax is constitutional and whether the issue could ultimately land before the state Supreme Court. That backdrop may already be reshaping races for Washington’s highest court. Campaign finance records show candidates running for five of the court’s nine seats have collectively raised more than $1 million months before the primary election, a dramatic increase for contests that historically have drawn relatively little public attention and modest fundraising. Since the Citizens United decision it has become quite clear that firstly, small dollar individual donations are way more corrosive to public life than large corporate ones, and secondly, money doesn't buy elections anyway. The campaign finance laws should be repealed.

A reminder from Edmund Burke that the loudest on social media and politics are not always the majority: “Because half a dozen grashoppers under a fern make the field ring with their importunate chink, whilst thousands of great cattle, reposed beneath the shadow of the British oak, chew the cud and are silent, pray do not imagine, that those who make the noise are the only inhabitants of the field; that of course, they are many in number; or that, after all, they are other than the little shrivelled, meagre, hopping, though loud and troublesome insects of the hour.”

I see this a lot in Seattle where the reporting will be incredulous, “the Council REFUSED to do what the people who shouted the loudest at public comment wanted,” while in the next breath say, “well obviously it’s undemocratic if the Council listens to unrepresentative neighborhood groups.”

You can tell from the video most of the people were sitting quietly while leftoid freaks screamed in the corner lol They literally think being loud means people should bow to their stupidity

Really good piece. I do think Sen. Warren has moved to a paternalistic approach to finance over the years that is reminiscent of how some countries do operate (eg Singapore) rather than her original ethos of having fair, clear, and tough rules to regulate finance.

No one wants to hear this, but some of the biggest overperformers in 2024 were among the most pro-Israel Democrats who were voting against Biden's threats to end offensive weapons sales Israel if they blocked humanitarian aid to Gaza. Golden and Perez both voted for this.

@IsForAt The best politicians are the ones doing their job so well you forget they exist until you vote to re-elect them. What we have today are people who seem to have an insatiable need for attention, and who are committed to punishing people they dislike. We gotta fix this.

I honestly try to not think about politics. But I keep having to. This is such a classic example of nanny state do nothing's thinking their job is to tell us what to do, as if we need more stupid restrictions from people who didn't make or do things. - don't bbq - you can't safely drive more than 25 mph in Seattle - thanks Jenny Durkan and whatever idiot you employed who hates people - oh let's now put "no turn on red" signs everywhere, because again, you can't safely turn a corner - YES! now the lawyers can sue us for hundreds of millions per year for where we didn't make the signs prominent enough So sad and micro-accountable and macro wrong wrong wrong

Like it’s one thing to propose this — but another thing to propose this in the middle of a contested race where you think it might ATTRACT voters. And it just might! Insane.
