Agreed, I don't think he is a hero. I think he could have helped more in that situation and don't think he belongs on a police force, but I dont think he murdered someone either. Both things are true. Floyd died of an overdose, NOT by suffocation. This is undoubtingly true.. BUT.. At the same time, it is a cops job to ensure your safety and should have done more to protect his prisoner rather than just sit there.. Neither of these people are "heros" IMHO.. But Murder charges were a ridiculous overstep..

@MostlyPeaceful @MayorFrey @RealC0rnP0p Chauvin wasn’t a hero or a murderer, but he was an idiot. Fentanyl killed Floyd, but there was no reason for Chauvin to remain in this position after it was no longer necessary, and by doing so he provided the optics that fueled the rage and led to his conviction.

Following Beartooth frontman Caleb Shomo publicly coming out as a “proudly gay man,” his wife of nearly 14 years, Fleur Shomo, responded with an emotional statement about love, loss, and the end of their marriage. “To support him whilst losing everything has been incredibly hard to figure out,” she wrote, later adding: “Our story was a good one. And now it’s done.”

We continue to carry the memory of George Floyd and the moment that called a nation to confront the reality of police brutality and systemic racism. Six years ago, our family stood with his family in grief and solidarity, and today we remain committed to the ongoing work for justice, accountability, and change.

Gianna’s father was taken from her six years ago today. George Floyd’s life mattered not only to those who loved him, but to all of us who still believe in the dignity of every human being. As we remember him, let us also remember what remains before us. Mourning must move us toward moral courage. Grief must move us toward justice. And love must move us to create a world where no child has to carry this kind of loss because of violence and dehumanization. Please continue to lift up Gianna and all who love and miss him. #GeorgeFloyd #BelovedCommunity

Trick-terminology. Many Non-citizen permanently residents pay plenty of taxes too, have been for decades with legit ssa numbers. It shouldnt only be a "citizenship" matter now. Those same contributors should also be legitimately eligible to be protected by, and to benefit from these systems.

Absolutely.. the fact that our tax payer money feeds him to stay alive for a single day is disgusting.. He should get to listen to them build the platform they are going to hang him on like it was in the 19th Century when you did something like this, not get 20 years of appeals while we feed and cloth his sorry ass.

Memorial day is for me a celebration. My brother was wounded in Iraq and actually died twice on a low altitude flight from Bagdad to Berlin. After multiple face surgeries, losing sight in his left eye, having multiple facial fractures, 6 surgeries, 8 months at Walter Reed (many of those weeks with us by his side), he pulled through. He later did 2 MORE tours to Iraq before finally retiring in 2015. During that time I met so many soldiers that were at Walter Reed, I saw so many things and what war does to young men. Being a Veteran myself, I thought about all the people I went to Basic Training with and how many of them saw war and conflict. Memorial day for me is being thankful for having my brother, but for my brother this day is for the dozens of people he served with that no longer are here today. I think about how lucky, I truly am and how blessed, but for those that lost that survival guilt is real. So please make sure and check up on your veteran on memorial day. It's not a BBQ for them, there is genuin pain. God Bless the American Soldiers, Sailors, Airman, Marines Guardsmen, and our Space Force, also remember our fallen police officers and first responders who also live in that job every day. Call them.. Talk to them.. Make sure to tell them you love them and how happy you are that they are in your life. They need to hear it. #memorialday #veterans

And agriculture is only one part of a many piece puzzle. Someone has to built the tractors that is used, somehow has to built the microchips and engine parts for the tractors, someone has to create the silicone that goes into those microchips and mine the Aluminum it takes for the tractor parts. Someone has to drill the oil that is out into that tractor, someone has to force the steel discs and drums that go into the combine, someone has to create the fertilizer used in that field,a scientist has to figure out the best method of use for that fertilizer, and a doctor treats the wounds of those injured in agriculture, and lawyers that have to do the legal bidding of those farmers and ranchers, and Vets to keep the animals from getting sick, and soil scientists, public schools that educate the children of those farmers, the construction workers who out up the buildings for that agriculture, the automobile company workers who build trucks, 4wheelers, ATVs, for that industry, the semis which delivers and take away the products of that agriculture.. The grocery stores and retail stores that sell those products.. You despress all of it.. Someone has to do that work for your "enter food here" to get to your table.. Look, I get it.. You are probably young, and that is okay, you aren't seeing the whole picture. Famines kill.. Communism over the past century created famines that killed over 60 million people just in the last 100 years. Famine and Disease are the 2 biggest killers in human history. More than 100 times more than all the wars ever in History.. The reason why we live in this consumption based world where technology is rapidly increasing has been because we have had ultra high birth rates for the past 200 years, far faster than humans in history by over 1,000 times. The population of earth in 1700 was 610 Million.. 980 Million in 1800.. 1.7 Billion in 1900.. And nearly 8 billion by 2000. That exponential growth is now ending for the first time in Human recorded history due to so many reasons. Long-term population decline has never happened in history.. Sure, Natural disasters, famine and disease has showed us small glimpses of what happens happens when population decline happens, and those have taken down nations, yet we don't know the long term effects of population decline and it can't be good if short term population decline always ends in disaster, economically and physically. This is why AI is important for humanity, but with the understanding that it has its own problems and disasterous outcomes if we don't go into it with extreme caution. Humanity has some tough challenges ahead. We have solved so much, but those fixes have consequences we must deal with.

@engineerpro @JeffreyLightfo8 @BasedMikeLee Separate idea so separate post Less than 3% of people in the US work in agriculture. This feeds everyone now We can easily manage that along with necessary support industries with population decline and by shifting people out of FIRE sector to actual useful work via policy

That just isn't how that works. Once under births begin it takes generations to reverse. Just saying, well, "Old people will just die off" is not sustainable, nor is it a moral way to think. Asking families to sit and watch their Matriarchs and Patriachs die off without help will never happen as you think it will. That is a young man's brain working out a very complex problem and coming to an irrational and frankly tyrannical form of thinking China's birthrate is down to just .5 to .75 That means that for every 4 people that die, only 1 is replaced. In 30 years China goes from 1.3 Billion people to just barely over a half a billion and over half of that population is over 50 years old. So either young people pick up the slack, work 4 jobs to keep the economy afloat and practically slave labor at that point just to keep the economy's GDP at 0%. Not to mention how many older people just die without means of support. You are asking for a decades long recession that can not be resolved without importing millions of people, destroying ancient cultures along the way and creating genocides far greater than mankind has ever seen. This world is NOT prepared for what happens when population begins to drop. There is no magic pill. You either create millions of AI robots to do any work that can be found, import millions of people from other cultures that will create upheaval culturally and eventually lead to genocides, or everyone just does a horrible death until people begin having children again, and that fakes 2-3 generations (around 75 years). Lucky for America our birthrate is still above 2, for a little while longer, but that is going away, and below 2, nothing good happens as you are now in negative replacement. Asia? South and North Korea, China, and even Japan are in serious trouble if they don't start having birthrates above 4 over the next decade and that is unlikely to happen. That's why the US doesn't worry so much about China anymore, as we see what is coming THEY see what is coming and NONE of it is good. China in a decade will be going back to famine if they can't get AI Robotics in time.

@SAcerton @JeffreyLightfo8 @BasedMikeLee There is no other way, it has been tried.. Communism killed over 100 million people, Facism has killed over 60 million people, only Capitalism although not perfect gives back to people who out I to it. If Birthrates drop, no amount of any system will work. Everyone starves.

The only way out at this point is either a complete reversal of Abortion, longevity, health lifestyles and multiple children, OR everything has to hinge on AI and AI Robotics to have enough Labor to sustain aging populations or risk huge amount non hospice deaths, long term recession and a very bleak future of totalitarianism.

@JeffreyLightfo8 @BasedMikeLee You obviously do not understand economics and what happens when there isn't enough labor to fulfill your aging population. It's decades long recession that can not be resolved. It's literally AI and AI Robotics or bust now.
