Queensbridge Road, day 3 - lots of workers and machinery for the resurfacing between Pownall & Middleton Roads.

Not just a car sewer today, but drivers travelling at speeds far too fast on Lansdowne, Middleton and Richmond Roads. Kids walking to school and still they speed. The level of driver entitlement is off the scale.

Note that the Lansdowne Drive, Middleton Road & Lee Street bus gates are all suspended today and for a short period. With all the cars re-routed, this is an apt reminder of the car sewer London Fields used to be. Grateful this is only for a short time!

Although a smoking ban outside schools is a positive thing, the real culprit which goes unhindered and unenforced is idling cars. This is a serious issue

How odd that the designers of Hackney Councils lethal Pembury Junction design, who talk about the "problems" of cycle tracks in council consultation drop ins, would invite the one resident out of 260k who shares their views and amplifies them as much as possible.

This used to be a dead-end street mainly used as a place to store large items of private property in a public space. It's sooooo much better as a pocket park!

This is just embarrassing @hackneycouncil @SarahWoodberryD for all the reasons written in the replies & many more. What benefit is there widening already-wide pavements, not putting in cycle track & claiming it's "play-friendly" on a busy road with no traffic reduction? 😔

We eagerly await @RichmondroadMC putting words into action & showing patients that active lifestyles mean not driving & parking their SUVs in London Fields (with associated health detriments, road danger, pollution). 1st step is to de-pave the carpark & fill with plants.

@PennyWrout Agreed Penny, this is a great improvement for sight lines for pedestrians and cyclists crossing this bit of Mare Street. Fully support!

consultation.hackney.gov.uk/streetscene/ma… Calling Victoria and London Fields #Hackney residents. Please fill out this consultation which will make the crossing on Mare Street much safer for cyclists and pedestrians. I lobbied for so long I'd almost given up hope, but delighted to see it now.
