@Michael1811277 They can’t because another team won’t do it when they are told that Damian doesn’t want to go there. The Blazers can’t trade Damian into the wind. This isn’t that difficult. No team will force Damian to play for them. A team is only going to trade for him if he okays it.

Consider: Blazers could trade strong package of assets to Mia for Butler, owed $146 mill/3 years. But Butler tells PDX, “Don’t do it. I don’t want to play for you. I’ll view it as a sign of disrespect if you block me from going to X.” Should the Blazers still make the deal?
