Hyundai Motor Group has unveiled MobED, a smart robot that can move on its own and stay balanced on both flat and rough ground.
It uses AI, cameras, and LiDAR to understand its surroundings, avoid obstacles, and handle tasks like delivery, building work, and research.
MobED comes in two versions, Pro and Basic, and is expected to go on sale in early 2026.

Thursday, I got to experience Avride for the first time.
I first saw Avride in Austin last weekend and was surprised to find them in Dallas. As of April, they operate 200 Hyundai Ioniq 5 automated rideshare vehicles, according to Self Drive News.
Avride uses LiDAR, radar, and a camera suite system, unlike Tesla's pure vision system. The cars are retrofitted with two displays, one in the front and a smaller one in the rear.
We hailed the service through Uber, after switching on "Autonomous vehicles" in Account → Settings. You can't request an autonomous car directly, but it does boost your chances.
The pickup was seamless; however, the driver had to tell me to unlock the door before hopping in, which was done via the Uber app. This unlock process ensures that only the passenger who booked the ride can access the vehicle, adding a layer of security.
We had a safety supervisor, whom Avride called a specialist. The specialist's name appears in the app, just like any driver. Ours sat in the driver's seat for our ride.
Our specialist was friendly and professional. He didn't need to intervene during our ride. He knew I was filming, and I asked permission to post some video. 5 stars for the specialist.
The ride was smooth and confident. I noticed a slight amount of wheel jittering (we couldn't feel it in the car) and two very minor brake stabs. We had a hesitation at a right-on-red as well.
The jitter and brake stabs were hardly perceptible; the only thing my wife noticed was the hesitation, the rest is just me nitpicking as a Tesla Self-Driving user. I'd give the ride a 9/10 overall.
Avride operates in a geofenced area of Dallas and North Dallas. We rode from the Dallas Museum of Art to a shopping center in Uptown, about 4 miles in 14 minutes.
Drop-off was right near where we parked our car in the specified shopping center. Overall, it was quick, easy, convenient, and felt very safe.
We took this ride back from Dallas in a Tesla Robotaxi. I'll be putting together a comparison between the two services tomorrow or Monday.
Well done, Avride, and stay tuned for the comparison!

My wife surprised me yesterday by suggesting we go out for lunch and try an unsupervised Tesla Robotaxi ride.
Opposites attract: I’m the huge tech guy, she’s always been the skeptic. Come ride along with us as she gives her honest first impressions.
Whatever you do, don’t miss the special message she recorded for our children right before the pickup.

4 hours of grinding. Running on untested branches to make nvidiva gb10 chip work with mac studio on the same cluster. But I got it working now @exolabs! Running Qwen 3.5 27b, 2100+ t/s prefill speed on my gx10, 19 t/s on studio, 4200ms ttft. Not bad before optimization.

This is how we turn public opinion around on data centers. Make them as beautiful as temples of the past. Give them aesthetic appeal worthy of the silicon miracles performed inside.
