1/ We are sharing additional details regarding our investigation into unauthorized access to GitHub's internal repositories. Yesterday we detected and contained a compromise of an employee device involving a poisoned VS Code extension. We removed the malicious extension version, isolated the endpoint, and began incident response immediately.

@Anaya_sharma876 As long as people continue paying for it, it doesn't give them any reason to change their ways. This is why luxury brands can continue charging ridiculous prices on simple items by playing the "brand" game. 😂

Dear Anthropic, please fix the Claude Code usage limits bug asap. $20 plan feels like a free plan since weeks.

Github HACKED. The internal repository has been breached. Hacker group claims to have this data, including 4,000 private repositories, and is offering to sell it for minimum 50k or the highest bidder.

2/ Our current assessment is that the activity involved exfiltration of GitHub-internal repositories only. The attacker’s current claims of ~3,800 repositories are directionally consistent with our investigation so far.

@ericwliang @Saanvi_dhillon curious how much of that is agentic setup vs raw capability. i notice claude's memory and consistency for longer tasks, but that could be the orchestration layer doing the work rather than the model itself. the distinction matters for choosing tools

@vishaltweetup ChatGPT is like a "jack of all trades; master of none". Claude is focused on being a master on few core aspects & it feels like their agentic setup seems to contribute a lot to its overall output performance (opposite of ChatGPT). LLM quality vs Agentic Setup quality - debatable

ANTHROPIC JUST QUIETLY NERFED EVERY CLAUDE SUBSCRIPTION Starting June 15, Agent SDK and claude -p usage no longer counts toward your subscription limits. Sounds like a free upgrade right? It's not. Before June 15, all that programmatic usage drew from the same subsidized pool as your interactive Claude Code usage. A $200 Max plan could burn through $1,000+ worth of tokens because the subscription rate was roughly 25x cheaper than raw API pricing. Now Anthropic is splitting it into two separate pools. Your interactive usage stays the same. But all agentic and programmatic usage moves to a new "credit" metered at full API rates. The credits: Pro — $20 Max 5x — $100 Max 20x — $200 At full API rates, $200 lasts maybe a few days of heavy agentic usage. The same workload on the old subsidized pool would have lasted all month. Anthropic is framing this as "we're giving you free credits." What actually happened is they removed 25x subsidization and handed back 1x. This is the third billing policy change in six weeks. In April they banned third-party agents from subscriptions entirely. Now they reversed that but killed the economics that made it useful. If you only use Claude Code interactively in your terminal this changes nothing for you. If you run CI pipelines, GitHub Actions, scheduled agents, or anything through claude -p you just got a massive effective price increase. The compute arbitrage era is over.

If you think about it, when people buy branded clothing with the giant logo on it, they're basically a walking #advertisement. Not only that, they're NOT being paid to advertise the product/#brand. They even PAY the company to do so! Insane... 🤯

Look, you have to understand .. a large move can come anytime against your trade. So, you have to figure out how to protect your self. 1. Never trade. 2. Buy low, sell high. 3. Never sell. 4. Go home flat everyday. A lot of noise makers buy at the top. They don’t at low.
