@andruyeung I assume the $300 is just $50 * 6, but added up/ spelled out? Still seems silly they charge.

Equinox's gym policies are actually hilariously absurd If for some reason, you want to pause your membership, you can do so for 90 days But you have to pay a non-refundable $50 fee every 15 days you remain on freeze Plus, you get charged a $300 one-time freeze fee Meaning you pay $600 just to pause your membership for 3 months.

Well the consequence of this tweet was that I had a perfectly pleasant meeting with the Slack CEO in Toronto. But they never actually fixed the css 🤷‍♂️
tobi lutke@tobi

Anyone from the slack frontend team following me? Could you improve selecting a chat and copying via some liberal application of style="user-select: none;" please? Something like this in the screenshot leads to: ```today 9:32 AM Max :palm_tree: One of my favorite prompts for coding (saw it on X somewhere): .... (edited) 2 replies Last reply today at 10:37 AMView thread 10:10 AM Carl joined #test. ``` It's too messy to use without post processing. It would be lovely if it would just lead irc style: ```best 2025-04-25: [ 9:32am] Max: One of my favorite prompts for coding (saw it on X somewhere): .... (2 replies) [10:10am] Carl joined #test ``` skip emoji status, (edited) status, clearly formatted timestamps, day change written in full. For extra points, it would be amazing if Command-Shift-C could also include all the replies, that would be brilliant.

@sonalibasak Yes, but with a uniquely long-term view and long-term time horizon - and a permanent capital public company vehicle - and a very diversified earnings stream.

@jasonfried Echo that completely. Not to mention, they didn’t feel the need to chase a bunch of subscription services add ons, etc - just a great product, at a fair price, simple, that lasts. And a great upper and lower body workout!

The Concept2 RowErg is one of the highest quality products I've ever used. Had one for years now, feels like it'll last another 100. Simple construction, durable materials, low maintenance. Comically easy to assemble. Tips up for storage, leaving a tiny footprint. The PM5 display is simple B&W, no touchscreen, just a few easy-to-use-when-sweaty rubberized buttons. Just two D batteries that seem to last forever. No plugs, no charging, no cables needed. Roll it around on wheels, steady once flat. Perfectly grips the ground, no wobble, no rattle, no movement. The whole thing is just right. I've rarely encountered a product so well considered. They knew where to stop. To me, this is a pinnacle product. The model to build towards. No matter what you make, aim to make it as well as the Concept 2 RowErg. And all that for under $1000. One of the few products I've paid this much for that feels like a steal. No affiliation, just a fan. concept2.com/ergs/rowerg

@RobinhoodApp Nobody asked for this, and this provides no value to society. Why? Why not stick to actual investments, in businesses with intrinsic value, and help people make smart investment decisions and save for retirement?

If you're leveraging AI for customer service, great, but adjust your metrics to ensure real customer sat. So many clearly still measuring for response times and are patting themselves on the back for useless but instant auto-replies - "our response times are really improving!"

@HillF1 Penalty was just. What is unjust is that nobody else got one for doing the same thing. + Max literally drove into Lewis's side, didn't leave a car width on the side, but no Penalty.

Love this. Who hasn’t felt this? Nostalgic, and not wanting to disappoint your younger self or friends or family, or a bright-eyed, callow kid? Even the GOAT Michael Jordan feels it.

Michael Jordan "I haven't picked up a ball in years…I rented a house...and [the owner] had a bball court. He says, 'I want you to shoot one free throw.'…When I stepped up to shoot the FT, it's the most nervous I've been in years." (h/t @ClutchPoints)

It’s not frequency of reporting that is the problem. Any real company produces quarterly numbers anyway. It’s aggressive, quarterly “guidance” that should stop, and “marketing” quarterly calls, as that creates incentives for managers to do short-term things to “meet” guidance.
Marcus Lemonis@marcuslemonis

Reducing frequency of reporting should not and will not compromise transparency. Flash reporting will become more common within periods. Twice a year results that are more fulsome focusing on long term prospects allow management more time on business and should eliminate certain expenses providing net income improvements. My caveat is that companies with going concern issues should still report quarterly if not more often to ensure awareness of short term risks. @POTUS thinking about efficiency in my opinion.

@Itsjoeco @StubHub Happens all the time with StubHub. Huge fees, nothing to prevent counterfeit, so they hold buyers money until after event in case something is wrong, in which case they refund. They take no risk and the customer experience is awful, since you’re not guaranteed an actual ticket.

Want to share why I will never use @StubHub again. Bought 4 tickets to a Broadway show for tonight. Brought three kids. At 4pm we get notification that our purchased tickets will NOT be delivered. Miserable. But we're in NYC what are we going to do? There are no comparable tickets so we have to buy new ones at $600 more total. Get to theater and are told they're counterfeit. Join (not kidding) 7 other groups all calling StubHub with the same problem. Ticket Lady: "this happens every night." The ticket counter even handed out cards with the StubHub phone number on it because it happens so much. So StubHub gives us new tickets and...they're counterfeit too. So that's our night. Made a big deal about taking our kids to Hamilton because it was a rough summer for them and we are now on a bus home, no show. Have deleted the app off my phone and will never touch this company again.

@typesfast Sadly, even when they - rarely - do, it is often stale/wrong. Boggles the mind how a quick Google search can be more accurate and up-to-date than the airline’s actual, digital boarding pass.
