@hsafaMD Disagree. They will likely get a more thorough understanding by looking it up. I think you should have them look it up and then discuss it the next day—best of both worlds. They get textbook knowledge and your experience with real world application.

Unpopular opinion but if a trainee asks you a simple medical question that you can answer in 2 min during rounds plz don’t ask them to look it up themselves when you have the needed information at your immediate disposal. It’s both discouraging and inefficient. Agree? Disagree?
