An โAge Verification for all Operating Systemsโ (including Windows, macOS, & Linux) bill has been introduced in the state of Illinois. This new bill (Illinois SB 3977) is *very* similar to the recently passed California bill (and the introduced Colorado bill) and, if passed, would set a deadline of January 1st, 2028 for compliance. The U.S. Embassy in Mexico issued an Urgent Security Alert (Update 3) this morning. The core instruction is: "Shelter in place until further notice."
Specific Mandates:
โข Stay Indoors: Remain in your residence or hotel. Minimize all unnecessary movement.
โข Avoid Hotspots: Stay away from areas with law enforcement or military activity.
โข Logistics Alert: While airports are technically open, roadblocks are preventing access. Do not attempt to travel to airports in Guadalajara or Puerto Vallarta unless your flight is confirmed as operating and the route is safe.
โข Ride-shares: All Uber/taxi services are effectively suspended in Puerto Vallarta.
