@_TeachingBridge @realmikolson Some valid points but I am trying to get it through the skulls of those above that Catholics see worship reserved exclusivley for God/Jesus/Holy Spirit. Protestants see what we do (devotions and prayers to saints etc) as workshop because their model of worship excludes sacrifice.

Erkojerk, I think you’re narrowing worship down to one expression and then treating everything else as something less. Scripture doesn’t do that. Sacrifice is worship, yes, but it’s not the definition of worship. When God’s people call on Him, thank Him, confess to Him, or ask for help, the Bible consistently treats that as worship too. The Psalms are full of this. Most of what the psalmist does is pray, yet the whole book is framed as the worship of God’s people. Even in the temple, incense is tied directly to the prayers of the saints. And in the New Testament, the early church’s gathered worship includes “the prayers” right alongside teaching and fellowship. So I’m not arguing against the value of liturgy or richer forms of worship. I’m only saying that Scripture doesn’t draw the line you’re drawing. Calling on the Lord is one of the most basic ways His people honor Him.

A common Roman Catholic talking point about praying to Mary or other deceased Christians is that they’re not really “praying” to them at all. They’ll say they’re simply asking for intercession, no different than asking a friend on earth to pray for you. But that comparison breaks down real fast. If I ask a friend here on earth to pray for me, I just ask. I tell them what’s going on and ask them to keep me in their prayers. Scripture actually encourages this kind of mutual care among believers. But that’s not what’s happening with Mary. I don’t - build statues of my friends and kneel before them. I don’t - burn incense or light candles in their honor. I don’t - call them a co-mediator between me and God. I don’t - use language for them that the Bible reserves for God alone. And I certainly don’t - bow in prayer to them so they can pass my requests along. At that point, the “it’s just like asking a friend” argument isn’t just weak, intentionally misleading. Whatever is going on in those practices, it goes far beyond simply asking a fellow believer to pray.

@realmikolson The saints in heaven are more alive that you and I. They sit before the throne of God. Necromancy aims to get information (often about the future) from the dead. Praying to saints aims to ask for spiritual assistance or intercession, directing the request ultimately to God.

@Truth_matters20 Man if you’re going to fire off at Catholics how about getting educated on what we actually believe rather than your caricature juvenile version. Read the catechism. I challenge you to read it with an open mind

The same priests you go to for confession are in just as much need of forgiveness as you are. Do you see how viciously circular that is? Only God can forgive sins.

@Acyn I got news for @seanhannity . Since the betrayal of Judas and the denial of Peter, the body of Christ is susceptible to corruption by His followers but if you cut yourself of from the true vine and his body you will be but a withering branch

Hannity: I went to catholic school for 12 years, I attended a seminary in high school and studied theology. I left the catholic church in large part because of institutionalized corruption. Others at the Vatican have totally lost sight of the true meaning of the bible and its teachings

@ScottRoberts How can you reconcile your statement about the sufficiency of scripture with the statement in scripture about then insufficiency of scripture?

You don't need a new revelation. You don't need a fresh word from God. You need to read the one He already gave you. The Bible is sufficient. Full stop.

@ScottRoberts That’s you projecting your own opinion on scripture mate. I could say the same thing about Luther, Elon Musk, Obama, Ben Shapiro - pick your side. This is why the Church guards the interpretation to prevent crazies

@Patriot26827043 @realmikolson Why then did Jesus commission the apostles to “Do this in memory of me?” Jesus did away with Levitical sacrifice and the temple is the High Priest in the line of Melchizedek who offered a bread and wine. Through baptism we all become priest, prophet and king.

🇦🇺 Australia’s Muslim population has grown from about 77,000 in 1981 to over 813,000 by 2021, with estimates now nearing 1 million. That’s in a country of roughly 27 million people; small share, fast growth. Now it’s sparking a bigger conversation: what does this mean for Australia’s cultural identity going forward? 🚨 Conservative Catholics: It’s Time to Wake Up and Speak Out!✝️ Imagine if the Cardinals had elected a *conservative* Pope — someone like Cardinal Robert Sarah. A Black African leader. A fierce critic of radical Islam and globalism. A man who would defend traditional values without apology. The Left would have *exploded*. “Racism!” “Too conservative!” “Separation of Church and State!” Liberal Catholics would be fleeing the pews. The media would be in full meltdown mode, screaming that the Pope has no right to be political. But here’s the truth they don’t want you to see: **The current Pope attacks the Right and the West daily — and the media cheers.** Because he’s on *their* side, suddenly it’s okay for the Vatican to play politics. Hypocrisy much? Conservative Catholics, we’ve been too quiet for too long. Liberal Catholics would never tolerate this. Why do we? **Hold your leaders accountable.** Demand a Church that stands for truth, not trends. Demand a Pope who defends the Faith without apology. It’s time to stop being weak. Share if you’re a faithful Catholic who’s had enough. The Church belongs to Christ — not to the media or the Left. #DefendTheFaith #ConservativeCatholics #CatholicTruth #SpeakUpNow

@lbeers37 @ManassehRJones @Truth_matters20 Keep reading the Chapter. Jesus meant it quite literally. And some people couldn’t accept it and walked - like Protestants today. Fast forward to the last supper. He definitely meant it literally.

Catholics put man-made rituals and traditions ahead of God's word. "'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?' And they said, 'Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.'" —Acts 16:30-31 Salvation only comes by faith alone in Jesus.
