In the company of my family, I took the oath as the Ruhinda North Member of @Parliament_Ug today afternoon. I thank my constituents for the trust they have placed in me to serve them for yet another term. We have been working together very well, and as their representative, everything I do will be aligned with their needs, as well as the @NRMOnline manifesto and the message H.E. @KagutaMuseveni gave us during his inauguration. He declared this term “kisanja no sleep.” This is the kisanja in which I will not sleep; I will focus on wealth creation for our community. I will closely work with our people to lift them out of poverty by helping them tap into government wealth creation programmes on top of other community initiatives we have been working on together. Congratulations to colleagues who have been successfully sworn in.

What a monumental day! Pleased to have joined heads of state, delegations and distinguished guests from across the world, leaders from @NRMOnline, and the Ugandans from all corners of the country to witness the historic occasion of swearing-in ceremony of H.E. @KagutaMuseveni. The president has led us from a war-ravaged country to a peaceful one, from a broken economy to a USD 66 billion economy, and from poverty to middle-income status, you name it. With him steering us forward, we can dream of achieving a USD 500 billion economy in the coming decades. Congratulations, Your Excellency! And congratulations to Ugandans for voting for the leader we deserve.

@Thomas_Tayebwa Last year I was invited by the Rt Hon Tayebwa to officiate at the commissioning of Tayari Radio in mitoma. It was a very hot day. I was amazed when Rt Hon Deputy Speaker held for me an umbrella till I completed my speech. Indeed an amazing gentle, who cares less about titles.

My brother Tim, i’m not someone obsessed with titles but rather with one’s contribution. I’m proud to have stood in for someone i admire and believe, someone who sacrifices more than anyone of us to have a peaceful and secure country. But above all, someone i call a friend and brother, whom i believe once given an opportunity would take our beautiful country to another level.

@DailyMonitor and the readers please note ! . The Patriotic League of Uganda is a civic organization, not a political organization. Our able Supreme Chairman is General @mkainerugaba, and Rt. Hon. Deputy Speaker @Thomas_Tayebwa is a patriotic member. PLU brings together passionate young patriots from all political parties, civil society organizations, and nationalists from across the country. We advocate for a corruption free Uganda, accountability, transparency, peace, democracy, and steadfast development. The Patriotic League of Uganda aims to consolidate the achievements our country has attained over the years and build upon them for a better future.

Today, I represented the First Lady, Mama @JanetMuseveni, at the UWESO Annual General Assembly 2026, held at the Office of the President Conference Hall, where I delivered her message to the National Executive Committee, partners and stakeholders. Her remarks reflected on the four-decade journey of UWESO; one that began with a group of committed Ugandan women responding to the plight of vulnerable children affected by conflict, poverty and HIV/AIDS. What started as a simple yet courageous decision to act has grown into a powerful national movement that continues to transform lives across generations, she said. She called for intentional investment in empowering children and caregivers through education, skills development, and strong value systems, so they can lead purposeful and productive lives. Mama expressed encouragement at the progress UWESO has made in promoting self-sustenance at the community level, particularly through empowering caregivers and strengthening local structures to ensure long-term impact. She also commended UWESO’s leadership, founders, and partners for their unwavering commitment to this noble cause. Together, we must remain steadfast in building the capacity, character, and confidence of Uganda’s next generation. In my own remarks, I thanked Mama and the visionary leaders who worked alongside her to build an organisation that has had a lasting positive impact across generations and in all corners of the country. I did not leave as I arrived: I enrolled and proudly received my UWESO membership card today. @UWESO1 @Youth4Maama

Last evening, I joined Research and Education Network for Uganda (RENU) community in celebrating 20 years of transforming education and research through connectivity. What started as a bold vision to make internet access affordable for our universities has grown into a cornerstone of Uganda’s digital transformation. I witnessed its foundation in 2006 while serving on @Makerere University Council committee of ICT when the then ICT Director Dr. Francis Tusubira presented the idea to the university council aimed at solving the high cost and unreliability of internet services to universities. The aim was to form a consortium of universities and research institutions who would buy bulk internet directly from international suppliers at a fraction of what was being charged to them. I’m glad now they provide high-speed internet connectivity and affordable ICT solutions to universities, research institutions, schools, colleges, hospitals, and the broader research & education community in Uganda with over 1000 connected campuses and sites. From enabling collaboration among institutions to supporting e-learning, research, and innovation, RENU has proven that when we work together, we unlock limitless possibilities. The impact is real; students accessing global knowledge, researchers collaborating across borders and institutions delivering better services. As we look ahead, the focus must shift to maximising this infrastructure, embracing AI, strengthening research, and ensuring every learner and institution benefits, regardless of location. Government remains committed to supporting policies and partnerships that drive digital inclusion and innovation. Together, we can build a knowledge-driven economy that positions Uganda competitively on the global stage. Congratulations to the board, partners and all stakeholders on this milestone. The journey continues.

Thank you very much my brother Right Honourable for representing me. I appreciate it very much.
Thomas Tayebwa@Thomas_Tayebwa

I was honoured to represent my senior brother @mkainerugaba as the Chief Runner at his 52nd Birthday Run, as we ran for charity and hope. In the speech I delivered on his behalf, Gen. Muhoozi reflected on the journey of this event, from what was once a private celebration to what has now become a national movement that brings Ugandans together for a greater cause. He shared how, over the years, encouragement from leaders such as @FrankTumwebaze, @DaudiKabanda, @LillianAber, and @AndrewMwenda, among others, as well as from young people, inspired him to open up this milestone to the public, transforming it into a platform for unity, patriotism and service. He expressed deep gratitude to all Ugandans who turned up in large numbers, noting that their presence demonstrates the strength of our collective spirit. He said the run is not about personal celebration, fame, or recognition but about standing together to support vulnerable and underprivileged children—orphans, street children, and those lacking basic needs such as food, education, and shelter. He reminded us that every step taken and every contribution made sends a powerful message to these children: that they are not alone. Gen. Muhoozi also paid tribute to the Patriotic League of Uganda for their steadfast and selfless leadership, as well as to the organizers, security agencies, medical teams, volunteers, and all partners who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the event a success. He commended leaders across all sectors—political, religious, cultural, and corporate—for mobilizing communities and supporting this noble cause. Most importantly, he thanked @KagutaMuseveni and @JanetMuseveni, his wife and children, @Nyinancweende, Diana, Patience, and other family members who have been part of his upbringing and have offered him unwavering support. What a monumental event this has been! Running for charity and hope is one of the most meaningful ways we can uplift those in need. The funds raised through this initiative will have a real and lasting impact on vulnerable communities. Thank you, Gen. Muhoozi, for dedicating your birthday to causes that uplift the hopes of the underprivileged.

My wife and I joined the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Uganda, @FrederiekeQ, and other dignitaries last evening to celebrate King’s Day in honour of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander. It was a wonderful occasion to reflect on the strong and growing partnership between Uganda and the Netherlands, one built on mutual respect, shared values, and a forward-looking vision for economic transformation. Over the years, our cooperation has evolved into a modern trade-not-aid partnership, with impactful collaboration in agriculture, energy, private sector development, and human capital. From dairy and improved seed systems to aquaculture and renewable energy projects such as the Orio mini-hydropower project in Mitooma, these initiatives are creating real opportunities for our people and strengthening Uganda’s position in global value chains. We also appreciate programmes like the Orange Knowledge Programme, which continue to equip Ugandans with critical skills for a competitive future. We would wish to further deepen our partnership and explore new opportunities in infrastructure, tourism, science, technology, and innovation. I congratulate the people and Government of the Netherlands on this important national day and wish His Majesty good health and continued success.

I joined the Speaker of @Parliament_Ug, Rt. Hon. @AnitahAmong, and Honorable colleagues to receive the body of the late Hon. Helen Nakimuli, former Woman MP for Kalangala District, ahead of a special sitting convened to honour her today. For us who listened to her make contributions on the floor of Parliament over the years, we can affirm that she was an active and committed legislator. She participated in debates that advanced the protection of island communities, supported fishing activities on Lake Victoria, and championed laws promoting safe water transport, among other important issues. Parliament will always celebrate and honour her contributions in these and many other areas that strengthen good governance. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
