⚖️ International #EqualPayDay
📅 Today, September 18th 2025, we bring attention to the @UN's International Equal Pay Day. A day that highlights the #genderpay #disparity as a symbol of #inequality. It is an important opportunity to raise awareness about the equal pay movement and push to close the gap between men and women.
💡 According to the latest figures from @STATEC , in 2022, in #Luxembourg the gender pay gap will be -0.7% ( in favour of women) when average hourly earnings are considered. However, a large gap of 13.9% still persists in favor of men when annual earnings are considered. This is given that a small percentage of men earn very high salaries and bonuses, and that women work more part-time.
💪 As a member of the EU Mutual Learning Programme in Gender Equality, @LISERinLUX researchers Kristell Leduc and Eva Sierminska (@esiermin) are working on a new report “The gender pay gap: the case of Luxembourg” that is to be released this fall. It will examine how Luxembourg's atypical labour market is influenced by the influx of cross-border workers and a changing age structure.
