The attack began after she questioned local TDP leader Mallela Venkata Ramana Murthy over the removal of a water pipeline motor. After returning home from the police station, where she could not lodge her complaint, the woman was allegedly attacked by the TDP leader, his family members and associates. She was dragged onto the road, mercilessly beaten, stripped in public, abused with obscene language and subjected to a degrading and inhuman assault. She was allegedly kept in that humiliating condition for nearly ten minutes in full public view. Police have registered a case against Murthy and eight others. This barbaric incident is a chilling reflection of the Jungle Raj prevailing in Andhra Pradesh under the TDP coalition government. The Red Book governance, marked by political vendetta, lawlessness and the misuse of power, has emboldened ruling party leaders and their supporters to believe they are above the law. Such shocking brutality against a woman lays bare the complete failure of the government to uphold justice and ensure basic public safety. We strongly condemn this inhuman and shameful attack and demand the immediate arrest of all the accused and the strictest possible punishment under the law. This incident is yet another reminder that women are increasingly unsafe under the TDP coalition government. A government that cannot protect the dignity and safety of women has lost its moral authority to govern. Immediate intervention is needed to end this atmosphere of fear, impunity and political violence.

🚨 #CBNFailedCM Chief Minister @ncbn and HRD & IT Minister @naralokesh have repeatedly made tall claims that their government has transformed Andhra Pradesh into one of India's top investment destinations. They claim to have attracted Rs 20 lakh crore in investments that would create 20 lakh jobs, projected the state as a leading investment destination, claimed it accounts for nearly 25 percent of India's Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and set a target of attracting *US$1 trillion* in investments over the next five years. However, the NITI Aayog Investment Friendliness Index 2026, released on July 17, presents a different picture. Andhra Pradesh has been ranked only eighth among States and Union Territories with an overall score of 48.7, trailing Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Odisha, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh. The findings clearly contradict the government's claims of being among the country's leading investment destinations. In fact, the report also conveys that Andhra Pradesh is not amongst the top performing States with respect to investor friendliness index. The ground reality is equally reflected in employment data. While the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) Annual Report 2023–24 reported an unemployment rate of 4.1 percent, the latest PLFS survey for March 2026 shows that unemployment has increased to 6.1 percent. This rise in unemployment stands in sharp contrast to the government's repeated claims of creating large-scale employment through investments. The NITI Aayog report also raises serious concerns over Andhra Pradesh's financial and investment climate. It points to delays in implementing industrial incentives, weaker-than-national-average performance in infrastructure, business environment, government policies and fiscal strength. It further notes that the state's debt has risen to unsustainable levels, adversely affecting the investor climate. These official reports expose the wide gap between the government's publicity and the ground reality. The party suggested that the government should stop making tall claims and spending heavily on self-promotion, and instead focus on genuine reforms, sound financial management, industrial growth, employment generation and effective implementation to deliver real development for the people of Andhra Pradesh.
