Prediction: Trump will lose tomorrow and it won't be particularly close. And then he will have done to the GOP (of which I was a registered member until 2017) what he has done to every business partner he has ever had: completely screwed them over. He's always been a bad candidate, and he's a much worse one now than he was 8 years ago. He has never won the popular vote or even cracked 47%. Incumbent parties are losing elections all around the world, but the incumbent will win in America due to a near best in the world policy response & subsequent recovery, and due to a clear majority of Americans being fed up with Trump. The GOP, and America, will be far better off without him. Good riddance.

@aweissman happens often for me too. i like to imagine being in the studio as it comes together. can’t imagine what it must feel like when you finish one of those masterpieces and know what just happened.

everyday i hear some song and think to myself "this might be the greatest song ever recorded" sometimes it's a new song; sometimes an older one i've just come across; and sometimes an old song i've heard many times but it happens every single day

Settle a debate. If you love NYC, but don't want to live there with two little kids, where in the world would you move to? Looking to get culture + walkability + diversity + energy but more habitable for children (parks, schooling, museums, etc).

Is there any correlation between startup name and their success? What's the most successful startup with the worst name?

@PeterOlivier you missed the step about reducing expenses in things like safety which in this case seem problematic. but directionally seems good for society. especially since the employees would likely move to lucrative careers in climate tech.

is that bad because the playbook is evil, or good because it has been proven to destroy industries while making money - which is kinda what we need for the energy transition?

what if we run the private equity playbook on oil and gas companies? acquire them with leverage, throw off tons of profit, saddle them with huge debts, zero out R&D and investment, sell off pieces, lean on their workforces so they seek other jobs, etc

I finally ditched my @ouraring after giving it a third try. I found it gave me sleep anxiety rather than deep insights. I also found that my body naturally knows how I slept if I’m embodied and present. Am I alone on this?

@evankorth I am doing some stuff, am limited by a very difficult housing search due to mold. Otherwise I would be there 100% instead of the smaller things that I do. Nice to see you Evan as well :)

Honest question: is climate change/the future on your mind everyday? Or something you think about when the AQI gets bad?

Just a little mundane Tuesday climate inspiration! PS, this is in Canada under updated legislation that mandates both emissions reduction and affordability PPS, yes he's taking investors 👀

Just caught up w a friend who buys rundown multifamily units, retrofits them to reduce emissions by 80% (!), then rents as affordable housing -- all while generating great IRRs There are SO many ways that smart + hardworking ppl can have a climate impact -- and be rewarded

@AlmostMedia i used to do similar things upstate where it never gets that cold. chilblains are a thing you want to avoid because they come back. though mine might have been caused by more prolonged exposure to cold during long treks.

@AlmostMedia our tank stays within a high and low pressure. once it goes below a certain pressure reading it shuts off and the pumps needs to be manually tuned on until it gets back in that range. do you know how to power the pump manually?

And there's no pressure at the tank in there so I think the problem has to exist between the well and the tank? I would imagine the line has to be deep enough below the frost line while outside? It hasn’t been that cold
