I can understand why you see it that way, but I promise you that’s not the intention. It’s just a way of saying we see you as equals and friends; a mark of respect.
Besides, you have to understand that we aren’t really one country. We’re fifty small countries in a military and economic alliance. The whole “one nation under god, indivisible” thing is a later addition.
