The 2024 #NationalFossilDay art features several Kayenta Formation animals and footprints, so here are the feet of trackmakers Dilophosaurus, Scutellosaurus, and Kayentatherium, all fossils from the Navajo Nation held in trust in the Texas collections.

all checked out fine. Started shopping for a replacement motor, can’t really procrastinate on this one too much longer since it’s summer in Texas. Then while reading instructions for tearing into the door, I see reference to this button 👇. 16 years. Yeah, so the motor is fine.

I have owned this truck for sixteen years and 236,000 miles, so a few weeks ago I accepted that it’s not unreasonable that I need to replace the passenger power window motor. Parts wear out, it’s the natural course of things. Unlikely both switches went bad at once, fuses… 1/2

Sometimes on my evening walk I see the sun setting in front of me (L), but then in my peripheral vision I see a very bright flash as the light hits the building behind me (R) and for a split second I expect the pressure wave of a nuclear blast to vaporize me. Hasn’t yet, though.
